Welcome to our Daily Rosary Meditation.

from Cincinnati who are getting married April 10th, who sent us a really fantastic note saying

how they've been praying, the Daily Road Rosary podcast, daily together, and they shared with us how it has transformed their life. So Victoria and Marcus, you are receiving hundreds of thousands of rosaries today for your wedding and marriage. Let's begin in the name of the Father in the Son in the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

I believe in God the Father Almighty creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ

is only Son our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate. It was crucified died and was buried. He descended

into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and he seeded at the right

hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life of everlasting amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hollowed be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stare, a daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into

temptation but deliver us from evil amen. Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, blessed is a fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us in our ensnown at the hour of our death amen. Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women, blessed is a fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us in our ensnown at the hour of our death amen. Hail Mary, full of grace the Lord is with

thee, blessed art thou among women, blessed is a fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us in our ensnown at the hour of our death amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son into the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning as noun of our shall be, world without end amen.

Our first mystery, maybe the last time someone predicts something about the Messiah is at the

presentation of Jesus in the temple. When an old man simian recognizes the baby Jesus as the Christ, the Messiah. This is an old man who has waited his whole life for the anointed one. He's the perfect symbol of faithful Israel and he holds the child in his arms and thanks God that he's been blessed to see the coming of the salvation and the light of the world. But then he begins to predict some not very pleasant things. He foretells that Jesus will be the occasion for the downfall

of many in Israel and that He will be rejected a sign of contradiction and then speaking to Mary, simian says these mysterious words and your own heart shall be pierced by a sword.

Now why would he say that to a young mother on such a happy day? And what does it mean?

Our Father who art in heaven, hollowed be your name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stare dearly bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil amen. You know Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee blessed our Thou among women blessed is a fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pre-fress and earns now and at the hour of our death

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pre-fress and earn now and at the hour of our death amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning, as now and ever shall be, world without end amen. Oh, my Jesus, forgive us, our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of thy mercy.

Our second mystery, it's an odd thing to say that Mary's heart would be pierced by a sword.

Since, of course, we know that she was taken up into heaven, body and soul at the assumption. But, of course, the traditional way to interpret Simian's prophecy is that Mary's heart was pierced by a sword at Calvary. Because, of course, who would suffer more at seeing someone tortured to death than that person's loving mother? Mary felt every wound, every heaving breath, every shutter,

she felt it in the sympathy of her love for her son.

Christ, as the new Adam, had his passion on good Friday. Mary, as the new Eve, had her compassion on good Friday.

And as St. John Paul said, Mary was spiritually crucified while Christ was physically crucified.

If you get the chance, look up the famous painting by Van der Widen, called the Descent from the Cross. Look at how the artist paints the dead body of Jesus and the sorrowful body of Mary in the same position, because there was a parallel and even a partnership of suffering on good Friday between Jesus, the new Adam and Mary, the new Eve. They suffered together that we might be saved.

Our father who art in heaven, how it would be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stare, dearly bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil amen. As it was in the beginning as now, never shall be, world without end, amen.

Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of thy mercy. Our third mystery, in Colossians chapter 1 verse 24, Saint Paul makes a very strange statement saying, I rejoice in my sufferings and in my flesh, I make up what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ for the sake of his body, which is the church. This is the passage, was closely related to this idea, this fact, this profound truth of

offering it up. But it begs a question, what on earth could be lacking in the sufferings of Christ?

Of course, it's not like there was anything Christ didn't do perfectly.

So Saint Paul doesn't mean Christ did something incomplete. What Saint Paul does mean, and what is true is that Christ is inviting us to participate in His activity so that His activity will have its full effect. Christ preaching of the gospel was perfect, but if we don't preach the gospel to, then His preaching won't have its full effect. Christ prayer was perfect, but if we don't pray to, then His prayer won't have its full effect, and Christ suffering for

souls was perfect, but if we don't suffer for souls too, then Christ suffering on the cross won't

have its full effect. Christ wants us to suffer with Him, so that His suffering may have its full

effect, and the one who did that first was Mary.

Our Father, Wharton Heaven, hollowed be your name, that kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. He'll marry full of grace, the Lord is with thee blessed, our Thou among women blessed, He's a fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Son and to the Holy Spirit.

end, amen. O my Jesus. Forgive us, our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Let it all souls to

have an especially those most in need of thy mercy. Our fourth mystery, Simeon said that Mary's heart would be pierced. But of course, the person whose heart was actually physically pierced at Calvary

was Jesus. But here's a question. Did Jesus feel it when his heart was pierced?

No, he didn't. Remember, he was already dead when they thrust the lance in. So he didn't feel it. He didn't suffer from that final awful wound. But who did feel it? Who recoiled when Christ's heart was pierced? Who felt the pain? As her son's body was desecrated with one more act of violence. Christ's suffering was over, but Mary's suffering was not. She felt the wounds of Christ

when Christ no longer could. Mary was the first to do what Saint Paul wrote.

She was the first to make up what was lacking in the sufferings of Christ for the sake of his church.

Or Father who art in heaven, howl it would be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on

earth as it is in heaven. Give us the stare, daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses. As we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil amen. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us and earn us now in the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father and to

the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, it's now in the first shallopy,

world without end, amen. Oh, my Jesus, for give us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of thy mercy. Our fifth mystery. At the end of Mel Gibson's movie, the passion, moment, the grieving mother holding the body of her son. But in the movie, there's a difference. Mary doesn't just keep her gaze fixed on the body of Christ. Slowly, very slowly, the grieving mother lifts her head, raises her eyes,

and tells she's looking at you. The viewer head on. There she is. Her dead son and her heart broken. His heart pierced physically and hers cut through with grief. And now she's looking at us.

She's saying, do you see what it cost?

What are you going to do now? Are you just going to pretend it didn't happen?

Are you going to pretend you didn't put us through this? Or are you going to do something about it?

Are you going to change? Our father Wharton Heaven, hollowed be your name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us a stay, our daily bread, and for give us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil Amen. Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee blessed, our Thou among women blessed is a fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, as now and of our shall be, world without end, amen. All my Jesus, for give us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to have an especially those most need of thy mercy.

Say, Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God review him, we humbly pray, and do thou oh Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, we proud throughout the world, seeking the root of souls. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen. Yeah, I just want to let everyone know that we're just a couple of days away from Holy Week,

and on Palm Sunday, we read the Passion of Christ. On Good Friday, we read the Passion of Christ, but we rarely meditate on what happens on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and the majority of Thursday during Holy Week. So we will follow the footsteps of Jesus through Holy Week in our rosary meditations, beginning, Monday. So, Theresa, what caught your attention with this meditation? This isn't that constructive. I think it's just a different way to phrase it,

but I was thinking about that initial question and how it kind of answers itself. It's a nice kind of circle. If you say there's something, we have to bring something to the suffering of Christ. We have to bring something, we have to offer something up, and then you ask what could it be lacking that Christ needs, that His suffering needs, but it answers itself in the sense that the only

thing it's lacking is us, and that's why it needs us. And then, but it begs the question,

why does it need us? Why did God set it up so that it needs us? He that He willed us,

He needs us because He chose that we would participate, and it's because it's...

And suffering draws forth the most selfless love imaginable. It's very clear to a

apparent with little kids. It's easy to love them when they sleep through the night. It takes

more love to be up all night with a sick kid, and then you yourself have to get up and take care

of everything all day long, work, and taking care of the kids and everything else. It draws out

more love. And what Christ is doing is He's giving us a way for our love and hence ourselves

to be brought to the highest level of maturity. Which is just true of how He designed everything.

I mean, it's our very existence. It's just love and participation. It's just what relationship is.

You don't make relationships better by taking out the other person, even if you are complete without them. So it's really hard to take on this practice when it hits like a storm.

Better to start with little things. And I think one of the best ways to start is the

morning offering that at the beginning of every day, we should say, Jesus, I give you my prayer, my work, my joy, and my suffering, and I united to your suffering on the cross. And then throughout the day, when things happen that you don't like, remember, you did not like, you didn't choose, you don't like, and you can't change. When I didn't choose, what I don't like, what I can't change, except those offered up. That strengthens our love so that when

bigger things happen, we are also able to unite our suffering to Christ. I guarantee you, Mary didn't start at the cross. She started by participating in her son's suffering, the moment that his blood was shed at his circumcision. And then the flight into Egypt and on and on. So let's not wait. Let's start and grow in love for Christ. Well, thanks for the conversation. Thank you. Let's be apostles of friendship,

good conversation, and the rosary. Share this with others.
