The County Library System requests assistance,

locating several misplaced archival books.

Please note, this is a completely separate concern

from the recent news that AI companies have been destroying massive numbers of rare texts

and an attempt to teach computers to take over your lives.

Those concerns should be directed to your local political representation

once they get out of their closed door meetings.

The books in question involve books

that don't appear to have ever existed in the first place.

Patrons are reminded that any volume lacking a barcode should be returned directly to staff. Do not attempt to resheld it.

Several return books have contained handwritten checkout cards,

listing names dating into next year. Library officials believe these cards are the result of vandalism. However, two listed individuals have since been reported missing. Another appears to have the name of a person whose body was recently discovered near the river.

The date on the card being the same date they were discovered. Staff continue reviewing circulation records and ask all library patrons to please leave all pens and pencils at the checkout desk until the source of these anomalies have been discovered.

Please, do not use this news as another reason to not go to the library. The library is safe. The library is safe.
