seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. “ever shall be, world without end, amen. Our first mystery. Today we celebrate the feast of”

Saint Peter Toe Roe. Peter is a remarkable modern saint because he wasn't a priest or bishop, monk or religious. He was a husband, father and catacast who gave his life defending the Catholic

faith during World War II. In fact, he became the first canonized saint from Papua New Guinea,

which if you're like me, you may have had to look it up on the map. It's just north of Australia. Did you know that? Now, Peter's parents were among the first converts to Catholicism in their region, and their parish priest thought Peter should become a priest himself, but his father encouraged him to become a lay catacast. By the age of 21, he had become a really gifted teacher of the faith, and at 24, he married Paula, and together they had three children.

I feel a special connection to this saint because I wasn't called to be a priest either. God called me to dedicate my life to teaching the faith. Back in 1991, as a young man, I looked around and I realized that so many people, including me, didn't really know their Catholic faith. So I left my position in the corporate world and set out to learn my faith more deeply and dedicate myself to teaching others the truth and beauty of the Catholic

faith. Perhaps you feel something similar. Maybe you have a desire to know the faith more deeply and to help your children, family, friends, co-workers, everyone, to know Jesus better. an especially those most in need of thy mercy. Our second mystery, in his beatification homily for

Peter Tolro, John Paul II said that there were three things that marked his life as a Catholic, prayer, study, and joy. Peter went to Daily Mass and frequently visited our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and this has stained him, but even more than that it gave him wisdom to console the disheartened and give courage to everyone around him to persevere during the Japanese occupation. But most of all, he prayed for himself, for his family, for his people and for the church,

“and everyone knew him as a man of deep prayer. And in order to be an effective evangelizer,”

Peter studied hard and he saw advice from wise and what he called holy big men. And in those very difficult situations, during World War II, he lived his Christian life so purely and joyfully. These are three fantastic attributes to be committed to a deep life of prayer, to also be committed to a lifelong study of the Catholic faith because the more we know God,

the better we can love him, and finally, to live with joy. Our Father who art in heaven,

Again, John Paul says of Peter, "During times of persecution, the faith of individuals and communities is tested by fire, but Christ tells us there's no reason to be afraid. Those persecuted for their faith will be more eloquent than ever because it's not you who

“will be speaking, the spirit of your Father will be speaking in you." And so it was for St. Peter”

Toro, when his village was occupied during the Second World War by the Japanese, and after the

heroic missionary priests were imprisoned, he assumed responsibility for the spiritual life of the

villagers, not only did he continue to instruct the faithful and visit the sick, he also baptized, assisted at marriages and led people in prayer. And when the Japanese legalized and encouraged polygamy, Peter knew it was against the principles of Christ and he firmly denounced the practice and because the spirit of God dwelt in him, he fearlessly proclaimed the truth about the sanctity of marriage, and he refused to take the easy way of moral compromise. He said,

“"I have to fulfill my duty as a church witness to Jesus Christ, and fear of suffering in death”

did not deter him." He was arrested and condemned to death by the Japanese military, and on the

day of his death, he asked his wife to bring him his crucifix. It had accompanied him to the end of his life. Condemned without trial, he suffered his martyrdom calmly, and following in the footsteps of his master, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, he too was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And yet, this grain of wheat which fell silently into the earth has produced a harvest of blessing for the church in Papua, New Guinea. Our father, Wharton heaven, hollowed beer name,

About the same time Peter was born, Pope saved Pious to 10th, asked a group of cardinals.

“What is the thing we need most today to save society?”

Build Catholic schools said one. No, said the Pope. More churches said another. Still no,

responded the Pope. Speed up the recruiting of priests at a third. No, no, again, said the Pope.

The most necessary thing of all is to form a group of lay people who will be virtuous enlightened, resolute, and truly apostolic. In other words, what the Pope was saying is that the church needs more Peter toal rows. Men and women who have a deep friendship with Jesus through prayer, men and women who know their Catholic faith, and men and women who can help others come to Christ through authentic friendship and good conversation. This is how God renews the church.

This is how He renews the world.

Our fifth mystery, we are in a spiritual war and there are two kinds of casualties. People estranged from God and people estranged from each other, isolated and alone. These daily rosary meditations are like the air campaign. They reach people all over the world. They form hearts, minds, good habits and desires,

but if we want to take more territory, if we want to reach more souls, then someone has to take

who already love the people who are far from God. Parents, spouses, siblings, friends,

co-workers, but these ground troops need to be equipped and they need practice and they need to be supported so they can help the people God has already placed in their lives. They need training and prayer and the truths of the faith. They need to grow incompetence and confidence and they need guided practice in friendship and the art of good conversation. Listening, asking good questions,

“invitation, accompaniment and perseverance. I believe Jesus and Mary are building a movement of people”

dedicated to this very thing, dedicated to friendship with Jesus and friendship with others.

We call this the movement of the Holy Family and I want to invite you to join us and to be trained

who can teach others in every area of life. But the most important place and way is through

friendship and good conversation because you're not, you're not going to say to your family and friends, hey, I know you're not really that interested in Jesus but why don't you sit down and let me give you a Catholicism class? Yeah, can I give you a lecture? Yeah. Would you mind? I don't want to hear

from you at all. If you would, if you would shut up for the next hour, I've prepared some words.

Now, we have to be a depth at being able to communicate the faith through the naturalness of friendship and good conversation. It's why although it's very good, if you can share the podcast itself with people, it's just as good if not better to be able to reflect on it yourself, to learn from it and develop yourself, and then you're just bringing yourself to others. So that that's natural in conversation. This is what I've been reflecting on. This is what I've been

doing. This is how I've been praying because people, yeah, people like podcasts these days,

“but they like you more. Not meaning me. You're talking about everyone. Yeah, that's what I mean.”

The people praying with us. The ground troops, everyone praying with us right now. You're the ground troops. You're the ones in relationship with the people who are not interested in Jesus. So the church, you're the bridge. But we have, we've got to become skillful at the art of friendship and the art of

“good conversation. To me, I think that's the key. So join us in this movement of friendship with”
