Welcome to our daily rosary meditation.

eternity, but really it's about how we use the limited time God has given us here because how we live our time. Shapes are eternity. So let's begin in the name of the Father in the Son in the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let's call the mind all those. We've promised to pray for

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ is

only Son our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate. It was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell.

On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting, amen. Our Father, who art in heaven, hollowed be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stay, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us

not into temptation, but deliver us from evil amen. Hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with the

blessed artile among women blessed is a fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us in earth, now in the hour of our death, amen. Hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with the blessed artile among women blessed is a fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us in earth, now in the hour of our death, amen. Hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with the blessed artile among women blessed is a fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary,

Mother of God, pray for us in earth, now in at the hour of our death, amen. The Lord will be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning as now and ever shall be,

world without end, amen. Our first mystery, the comedian Brian Regan has a bit where he talks about

how long he put off going to the eye doctor. Then he finally went, got his prescription adjusted, and suddenly his vision improved dramatically. And so he says, "Hey, I could have been seeing this whole time." And he realizes how dumb it was to put off going to the eye doctor that long. How can instantly improve vision not be on the top of your to-do list? Ah, I'll just see tomorrow. I don't have time. I don't have time to see today.

Well, if that's crazy stupid to put off, improve vision, you know what's even

dumber, putting off improved happiness. And yet, that's what we all do when we prioritize something other, then prayer and virtue.

Our Father who art in heaven, how it would be your name,

thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stare, daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation. Deliver us from evil amen. Hey, I'm Mary full of grace. The Lord is with thee, blessed art all among women, blessed is a fruit of thy womb Jesus. Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of thy mercy. Our second mystery, the first reason to prioritize prayer and the pursuit of virtue is that if we don't, we'll just sink deeper and deeper into sin and sin makes you miserable. It always does. Look at any sin, any vice. By the time your deep in it, you don't even get any pleasure from it. You just take it for a little relief from the craving. It doesn't matter if

it's drugs or sex or alcohol or food or gossip or buying stuff or trying to get attention.

If you pursue these in a disordered way, not only do you forfeit all the other goods of life,

but you eventually lose even the basic pleasure you used to get from that one petty thing for which you sacrificed everything else. Jesus said, those who have will not lose even the little they have and those who have not are sinners and what they have not is delight and even before hell opens its mouth to swallow them, they have already made themselves completely miserable on earth.

So why would you put off being less miserable? Why would you put off conversion?

Repentance and a firm commitment to daily meditation and a resolution,

which overcomes all vices and transforms you in virtue and happiness.

Our Father who are to heaven, hollowed be your name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil amen. Lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of thy mercy.

vice makes you miserable and virtue makes you happy. What do we mean by virtue?

What do we mean by prunes justice and fortitude? What do we mean by faith, hope, and charity?

We just mean the creative excellence of goodness, good actions that we turn into habits are virtues, bad actions that we turn into habits are vices. As a great painter is excellent in creating artwork, and as a great piano player is excellent at creating music, so is a virtuous person excellent at taking good actions, turning them into habits that create happiness for himself and others. A virtuous person is a virtue of so of happiness, and they take the most surprising notes.

Even some notes you might have thought were sour and puts them together for a stunning symphony. A virtuous person is a gourmet chef of happiness who takes the most surprising ingredients,

even some that don't at first look very appetizing and makes a rare and delightful meal.

So a virtuous person takes what life gives them, including the crosses and the unexpected challenges, and creates a life that is a joy to themselves and others. So why would you delay

in the pursuit of virtue? Why would you put off getting good at life and all the joy that goes with it?

Our father, who art in heaven, hollowed beer name, thy kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Your vests stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and let us nod into temptation, but deliver us from evil

As it was in the beginning, as now and to for shall be, world without end amen. Oh, my Jesus, forgive us, our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of mercy. Our fourth mystery. Of course, the ultimate happiness is the encounter with God who is the supreme good. And even in this life, we know that this encounter makes us happier than anything else ever could. St. Alphonse's LaGloria lists all the

saints who, no matter what their circumstances, could barely stand the happiness that came from real intimacy with God. And he writes about how St. Philip Neary, after he had gone to bed,

Was so delighted with the goodness of God that he would say, "Oh, Lord, let m...

Or while he was working tirelessly in the mission fields of India, Francis said, "If you're

filled with joy, would reach for his heart and shout, enough, Lord, no more consolation.

My heart can bear no more." And then St. Alphonse's ends with his own exhortation, or taste and see says David that the Lord is good. My brother begin to make meditation every day to have friendly conversation with God and to have a firm resolution. And you will find that during the short time which you spend with him, he would give you greater consolation than all the world with all its amusements has ever given you. Or taste and see that the Lord is so good.

Why would we not put that experience on the top of our to-do list? Why would we not strive for

supreme happiness now instead of putting it off till later? Our father, who art in heaven,

hollowed be your name by kingdom come by will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a

stare, dearly bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us for me, valiman. yes, now in reverse shall be world without end amen. Oh, my Jesus, forgive us, our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to have an especially those most in need of thy mercy. Our fifth mystery, let's put this in simple terms. Weiss makes us vicious, the root of vicious is vice and virtue makes us happy. Now here is the infallible means, the unfailing way to grow, in virtue and happiness. Every day do daily meditation,

like we're doing here in the rosary and every day no matter what, have a concrete resolution, flowing from your meditation and every day do a brief examination of conscience. Let me give you an example. You happen to be doing a rosary meditation and Jesus says, do not be angry with your brother and that strikes you and then you think about it and you realize, ah, I've been really impatient, angry and uncharitable with my spouse or maybe my kids or co-worker and then you ask

Yourself, why am I doing this?

And then you think about it and you talk to the Lord about it, you ask Him and you realize,

I've taken on too much work, I'm out of balance, I'm doing too much and I'm exhausted. Lord, what do you want me to do? And it becomes pretty obvious that we need to get our work life into the right proportion so that we're not so exhausted so that we can approach the people in our lives with a greater patience and charity. So we have to make, we have to make a choice, we have to live differently. Okay, I'm going to work five days this week, not six.

That's a concrete resolution. Then at the end of the week, I have to do an examine.

Did I just work five days a week or did I work six?

Meditation, resolution, examination of conscience. That's the infallible way to grow,

in virtue and happiness. Do it every day, you'll become happy and the people around you will be happy. Don't do it and you will become more vicious. Our father, who art in heaven, hollowed beer name, that kingdom come by will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us a stay, our daily bread and forgive us, our trespasses. As we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not in too temptation, but deliver us from evil amen.

Lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend those in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and sinners of the devil. May God, review, can we humbly pray and do thou, oh, Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell, Satan, and all the evil spirits who proud throughout the world seeking the root of souls, in the name of the Father and the Son,

in the Holy Spirit. Amen. Well, what caught your attention with that meditation, Teresa?

I think one of the unique challenges to making that decision, making that change and choosing to make the difference in your life right now to be happy, is that more often than not, we're just

Too distracted and busy to realize that we're not happy.

make us really miserable, and it's not until hours later that you finally have a moment of silence

or something that you're like, I'm miserable. What can I do about it? And then you dive back into

distraction and busyness. So honestly, my resolution from this one was just,

I want to be able to, when I'm in the moment, acknowledge that it's not happiness. The acknowledge that it's making me miserable, because I think so much of the delay comes from not being able to recognize where you're at. Totally, I would say, set aside 30 minutes to an hour, sit with God and think about your life. Now, I find that when I'm just thinking, I can get into a loop. So what I found even better for me,

I sit with a legal pad or a notebook, and I start with, I feel, X, I feel Y, I feel tired, I feel frustrated, I feel whatever, happy, I feel, and then, I just right exactly how I feel, as brutally frank as possible. And then,

I think about it with the Lord. And he'll do things I can say,

okay, why do you feel that way? And then I write, why I feel that way? And then a conversation starts. I think you're also right that writing it down somewhere helps you with two things. You're less likely to constantly repeat the same cycle and thought, the loop, where, if I'm in my head, I can just start the story from the top. I can just start the stress from the top, the anxiety, again and again, again, I kind of lose my place and I go back to the beginning. But if it's on paper,

I've already said that we have to move forward. But also, there's something about writing it down. You can be done with it once you've moved through it. Exactly. And if I have a to do this, if I'm stressed about what I have to do today, I write it down. Now, I don't have to, worry, I'm going to forget all of it that I have to keep that in my head, keep thinking about everything that's making me anxious. I've written it down. It's done. That is fantastic. And

we live at the level of feelings. If you write it down, I feel this. Then you have to start thinking

about it. Because feelings shouldn't dictate our behavior, thinking should. And that does answer the two things I said I have a problem with. You're no longer distracted from it, because you're writing it down and you're looking at the thing itself. And you're setting aside

time to think about it. So you're not going to be so busy that you never have time to realize

you're unhappy. And as I, as I, as the Lord moves me from what I'm feeling to what I'm thinking and why, and then he asked, why do you think that way? He's moving me toward a resolution. What are you going to Michael? What are you going to do about it? Michael, what do you want to do about? How is fun? It's interesting. When I'm doing this with God, when it's just me talking to myself, I don't say Michael, when I, I know it's the Lord, he starts with Michael,

what are you going, what do you want to do about this? I find it to be a powerful process.

Stop talking to yourself, start talking to God. And then listen to him and write down what you think he's saying. And then make a decision to take some action. That's a good resolution. I like that resolution a lot. And on top of it, as we said in the fifth decade of the rosary, if you really do meditation, and if every day you have a resolution during this rosary, the resolution is you practicing a good action. And if you turn that good action into a habit, you have a virtue, and you become happy.

But if you're thinking about it right now, that means you've got to do it now.

Don't put it off.

Don't see me really. Yeah, don't put off seeing. Well, thanks for the conversation. Thank you. And let's be apostles of friendship, good conversation, and the rosary. Share this with others.
