I hurt myself today to see if I still feel a focus on the pain.

The only thing that's real, the needle tears a home, the only reason you stay.

Try to kill it all the way, but I remember everything.

But have I become my sweetest friend, every one I know goes well in the end.

You could have it all, I am in fire under, I will let you down, I will always be there.

I wear this crown of thorns, on my life's tear, full of broken thoughts, I cannot prepare.

I need the stains of time, the feelings disappear, you are someone else, I'm still right here.

But have I become my sweetest friend, every one I know goes well in the end. You could have it all, I am in fire under, I will let you down, I will make you wait.

I could start again, the million miles away, I will keep myself, I will find a way.

You did find a way, man, you found a way right to our hearts, that was absolutely fricking incredible.

And I am just learning how to make our fricking videos show up on the screen, what is going on, Joe Rubin?

What's going on, man, I was waiting for you to work on that video, but before we switch over to your video skills, damn, I couldn't love that anymore, dude, that guy crushed that song, it was so good, dude, that was so good.

But I absolutely adore and love and grew up on and still listen to Trent Resner and nine inch dance, and when I first heard her, that's just one of those songs that sticks with you forever.

And then Johnny Cash, obviously this legend that again grew up with loved his music, just loved how authentic he was and how he really brought it. And then he covered this song from another artist, you truly loved and you're just blown away, like wow, he did it differently and awesome. And now our Frost takes into another level completely, and now I need to listen to all three all the time. So that's a lot of hurt, dude, it's a lot of hurt. You know what, that's a lot of hurt in the world, but I'm just happy that we get to sing about it.

Yes, great, you know what, that was fantastic, that's really a great way to kick off this week's podcast, dude, because that was, that's almost really deep. Yeah, it's deep, and you all funny enough, this week, the theme of the week is that's deep, bro. I'm no kidding.

Yeah, that the whole idea of the theme, so in the fight in that karaoke group...

side by side in that karaoke, we have this beautiful group of little over 50,000 members, and they all, you know, record songs, post them up, it's negativity free, it's sad free, and it's super awesome. We'll check it out. So the theme of the week was FNKD, or that's deeper, where you can actually post up songs that have a deeper meaning either to you personally, or, you know, they were trying to convey something deeper.

There's hidden meaning that you're able to uncover, and that's what it was really about.

And I mean, the layers on this song are endless, you know, it's about addiction, regret, realizing success doesn't matter at the end of the day.

Actually, for the theme of the week, Mark Frost actually won first place. He did, he did.

I'm sorry, I'm more impressed with you and your, your, your level of depth on this song, that was really, that was really deep, Mike. Really deep. I'm deep, bro. So I am Mike Winston, I am the co-founder and co-host of the Friday night karaoke podcast and the Friday night karaoke. He's book group.

And I am Joe Rubin with the same exact title and welcome to episode 777. 777. Yes. Why, there's so many episodes. Yeah, I like that it's the same number twice.

It's easy to remember. It is. If, if see if it was episode 67, my, my daughter back. That's on reason. And I don't know why, but, like,

as with, like, how the frickin universe, I know. I do like, I really have zero idea why that, like, that's funny. And they don't know either. Okay. Nobody knows.

I think that's the whole thing.

Nobody knows. It was supposed to be like, ha ha ha ha. That's what it's all about. It was like seven. No, I liked it.

It was a simpler time for us back in the day.

Everything was just about like, good music. You know, there was drugs. It was like a fun time. Under age drinking, it was a great time to be alive.

No, they left about numbers. Yeah, they're like. And they don't even know why. I know. It's all good.

You know what? You do your thing. We'll do our thing. We'll sing about it together. It's all good.

That's what we're here for. So we have actually 10 artists featured today, which is more than usual. Usually a lot. Or it's all them.

We'll try. We're going to try to get through all of them. I do have a little bit of housekeeping. I need to start off with if you have an exciting new announcement. Make it.

We have a new sponsor. Yes. Yes. It is bourbon. Per suit or.

Per suit spirit. Yes, it is. It is delicious. Actually, I don't even know if it's delicious. I'm about to open our first auto.

I did this. I was about to say, it's like, Oh, this is great.

But I actually have never even tried it.

This is our brand new sponsor. We just brought them on board. So I'm going to give them a try. I've got my nice clear ice ball here, ready for going. But these guys are out of Louisville, Kentucky.

They've got like 10 different kinds of bourbons and and rise.

And I've got the, which one am I cracking open right now?

The double oak to bourbon. So I'm going to give this one a try. Not only. Double oak. Do they have?

I know. I know. Double oak. Not only do they have like all these different spirits. But these guys are also podcasters.

They have a podcast called bourbon pursuit. Oddly enough, right? And it's number one whiskey podcast, Oddly enough. So that's, that's fantastic. So yeah, it is really cool.

So we're going to actually have them join us for an episode. Yeah, they're going to have them on our actual podcast. We got a chance to catch up with them. Really cool guy. I started by two guys riding Kenny.

The London Kentucky. And they've just built a nice nice business for themselves. And we're excited about having them as a sponsor. And I can't wait to give this a try. I'm going to pour it momentarily.

And I'll let you know what I think. But in the meantime, looking forward to having these guys as guests in our show. And thank you for watching. And yeah, sponsors. And just so you all know, we don't take money from our sponsors.

At least not yet. So right now we just take bourbon. Yeah, exactly. Nobody wants to give us money. So it's not like we don't take money.

Like people just haven't tried to give us money. You have to position it right. You know, like, no, we're too good for that. We don't need it. We don't need your money.

We just need your bourbon. [LAUGHTER] Until the money starts rolling in. So again, just to start us off, that was Mark Cross with hurt by nine inch nails slash Johnny Cash. And just to phenomenal way to start off the podcast.

Coming up next, we have a heavy hitter from the Friday night karaoke community. We have featured this absolute rock star multiple times on the Friday night karaoke podcast. And we just can't get enough. So here she is again with four of her where she records four different versions or like, four different tracks and kind of messes them all together.

And makes a beautiful song for us all to hear. This is going to be Bonnie Michelle with. Oh, deep is your love by the Portuguese.

Before we put it.

As I was saying, this is really good.

Really good. I love it.

Apparently bourbon pursuit is really good.

Yes, I'm loving it. This is great. All right. You're be horrible if you're like. [LAUGHTER]

Right on. Right on. Like, oh my god. [LAUGHTER] None of that happening here.

But that would definitely make sure that we never get a dollar from any sponsor ever.

No, no, you know what? The sponsors that we are like, this is actually good. They're going to be like, you know what?

Those authentic guys actually like our stuff.

True enough. That's what it's about. So this is going to be Bonnie Michelle with how deep is your love by the. Beachies, give it to her. [MUSIC PLAYING]

You know, guitar solos and drum solos and all those like instrumental pieces were just like a really cool part of that whole era, right?

Like that was like one of the things that we loved.

You know, get slash getting up on top of the piano and November rain and just rip it out that way. [MUSIC PLAYING] It's like legendary. And you could listen to that over and over again and kind of ramps you up. So the problem with karaoke with those songs is it's like 30%.

30% low vocals and 70% music. So most of the time you're standing, they're like, no, he pulled off. He just sat there. He just pop his head for like four straight minutes at the end of that song. It was great.

But before that, it was great.

It was great. It was great.

Now, honestly, if you had told me that that was his song and he sang that in the 80s, I wouldn't believe you.

Yeah, yeah, he's got that voice. He's got like, he's got like, if he was like, if you told me he was actually like a frontman of a band in the 80s, I would totally believe you. I mean, I really want to hang with that dude and like a go get, I've said this before. I want to go hang with Rick Mendoza here and go to karaoke and have a beer with a man.

I don't know.

His recording studio looks awesome too.

He's got a lot to know. It's got some cool. Yeah.

I think he has some less Paul's back there.

If I saw correctly, maybe a reproents or something like that. Yeah. Oh, man. So anyway, that song, 99. I had to go look it up because I don't know much.

I didn't know this song. And both of us were getting punked at the end of the year. You were just waiting for that next lyric to come. So obviously we both don't know that song very well. It's really cool though.

But apparently it's based on a sci-fi movie where people are just numbers and love is literally illegal. And it's George Lucas's 1971 debut film, T.A. checks 1138. That's what it's based on. What do you know? I learned something today.

Anyway, don't give us money. You know what I mean? We're good. The pantomarch you got. Yeah.

Don't, don't, don't, don't. Right, right.

I always jump to these things.

No, no, no, no. Come on up next.

So we're actually featuring a lot of new people on the podcast today.

I'd love. This is not one of them. I feel like we keep on coming back to this person. We've featured her a number of times in the last like 20 podcast episodes. We just keep coming back because like the songs are just too good.

Love hurts, but your voice, it doesn't hurt. It actually feels wonderful. It is killer voice night here on FNK. Like, damn, she's... She's awesome. What a nice voice. She has power too. There's dire frame singing and there's head singing. It comes from your stomach and down there.

It comes up and you have your head singing where it's got a more up here.

It's higher pitch and you have to switch and transition between them.

It's hard to do for a lot of people. She switches between them very, very naturally. Yeah, she crush those high notes. And you hear that. It was great. Absolutely awesome. Nancy, then I know them with love hurts, by Nazareth. And we're not even going to get into why that's a deep song.

Because we were all crying on that song. We're all crying on that song. Like, yeah, no, there's... You know what? Why didn't you actually do explain that to us? I'm just right. We're running out of the fairytale romance crap and just admit that love actually causes a lot of real pain.

Did you? Wow, dude. That was really good. That was impressive. That was great. Anyway, we're running on time. We got like a lot of songs to cover.

But so we featured her a few times, right, Nancy on this.

Yeah, she's freaking phenomenal. Yeah, absolutely. And she has a lot of collaborations up in Smiel. So a lot of these singers actually do. So if you are on Smiel specifically and you just go search for some of these singers, we put their names up.

We don't put their Smiel ideas. So if they don't have their actual name and Smiel, you won't find them. But you can just go into the Friday Night karaoke community on Facebook and ask them what the Smiel ideas. And we actually have a long in the featured section of the Friday Night karaoke Facebook group.

There's an entire thread that is Smiel ideas for basically everybody in the group that wants to participate in that.

And there's as a ton, I think that we have like 300 of them in there right now.

Just go look up the person and go look at their songs and feel free to join t...

Yeah, for those of you who have no idea what Mike's talking about.

If you want to sing a duet with Nancy or one of these other singers, that's what this is.

So she would sing like the first half of it. And then you would join in and hear the recording and then sing the second half of that. You can kind of do this duet and then have this final album of you singing with her or singing with other people.

It's it's a really cool feature on Smiel. If you've never used it before, it is really cool. It's a lot of fun.

What Joe doesn't tell you, he makes it sound like she, you know, someone singing one half and then you're singing the other half, which would be so much easier. But the way the first person who singing this actually goes through it, they're actually singing like every other verse. So they're like singing something and then they're singing the other part in their head because they have no reference after that. Then they're picking it right back up again. And they're just singing blind. And then the person who sings second, third, whatever.

They actually had a huge advantage because they just get to pick up and sing wherever the first thing or isn't singing.

So whoever's opening those co-labs, man, more, more power to you. Thank you. You're doing God's work. I agree. Yeah. Join someone else's before you start one analysis. See what it's like. So yeah, 100%. So come in up next. First of our newly featured singers. And again, the next five songs and next up five singers are all new to the Friday night karaoke podcast. Thank you for your hard work.

Thank you, Jennifer. And thanks to all our mods, by the way, it takes a lot of work for our moderators to go in there and make sure this thing is running nice and smooth. You know, we want to make sure that, you know, negativity free.

We want to make sure people are being nice and respectful, you know, people are singing sometimes for the first time on FNK.

And we want people to be respectful and have a good time. This is all about the singing, the love of songs, the love of music and getting out there and getting out of your shell a little bit and just sing into a whole group of complete strangers on the internet. It could be, it could be a little, you know, awesome, but like it could be a little nervous or sometimes people join and don't sing for a while, but we've got just a ton of people that will help you out answer any questions. Make sure that you kind of the the whole group is moving smoothly and that is our fantastic group of moderators. So big shout out to them.

It takes the village. That's what they say. It sure does.

And we have a mini city. We do 50,000 people. It's pretty cool. We have we have exactly we're going to incorporate pretty soon. Coming up next, we have a brand new singer to the fight in that karaoke podcast. This is going to be Christy win and she is singing time after time by Cindy Lopper. But not just any version way to you hear the way she sings it and the way she presents it.

We'll talk about it afterwards. Again, Christy win with time after time by Cindy Lopper. [Music] Lying in my bed, I hear the clock ticking, think of you. Call up in circles, God, illusion is nothing new. That's fast, all night, almost left behind. [Music]
