Hey grown-ups, before we start the show, if you're a little one enjoys listen...

It helps us reach more families. Thank you so much.

Hello there, Dreamer. I'm Derek. Welcome to Little Sleepers. Big Dreamers.

Tonight, we meet Maddie and a monkey who find sharing a little tricky, a story about kindness, understanding and learning to share together. Before we start our story, let's get calm and relaxed.

Take a slow breath in through your nose and gently blow it out through your mouth.

Another slow breath in and out.

Lovely. Our story tonight is Maddie and the monkey who would not share.

Maddie loved visiting the park. She liked the trees. The warm sunshine and watching the animals play.

One afternoon, Maddie noticed a group of monkeys near the trees. They were laughing, climbing and playing together.

But one monkey stood out. He held a big bunch of bananas and a shiny toy car. Whenever other monkeys came close, he turned away. No said monkey. Mine. Maddie watched quietly. The other monkeys looked sad. They wanted to play too. Maddie walked a little closer.

Hello, she said kindly. The monkey looked at her. "I'm Milo," he said. "And I don't like sharing." Maddie nodded.

"That's okay," she said. "Can I sit with you?" Milo shrugged. Maddie sat down. She didn't ask for bananas. She didn't ask for the toy. She just sat down. After a moment, Maddie took out her own snack. She broke it in half. Would you like some she asked? Milo blinked. "You'd share with me," Maddie smiled. "Yes," sharing fields nice. Milo took a bite. That is nice, he said. The other monkeys watched. Milo looked at his bananas. Then at the toy, slowly he held one banana out. Would you like some he asked? One monkey smiled. Another clapped.

Soon they were all sitting together. They shared food. They shared toys. They shared laps. Milo felt warm inside. Sharing makes play more fun, he said. Maddie smiled. "And dreamer, that's the power of kindness." Showing by example, and learning that sharing brings us closer together. Now, let's relax some more. Take a slow, deep breath in. And gently breathe out. You can say these words out loud or softly in your heart. I can share. I can be kind.

I can think about others. Let's say a few more. Sharing feels good. I like helping friends. I can learn new things. And three more before sleep. I am caring. I am loved. I belong. Good night, dreamer. May your dreams be filled with warm friendships. And peaceful rest. [Music]
