Hey grown-ups, before we start the show, if you're a little one enjoys listen...
consider like in, sharing, and telling a friend.
“It helps us reach more families, thank you so much.”
Hello there, Dreamer. I'm Derek. Welcome to Little Sleepers, Big Dreamers.
Tonight, we meet Pam and a panda on her very first day in a brand new place.
A story about feeling shy, making friends, and settling in. Before we start our story, let's get calm and relaxed. Take a slow breath, intro your nose, and gently blow it out through your mouth. Now they're slow breath in, and out. Perfect.
Our story tonight is Pam and the pandas first day at the zoo. Pam loved going to the zoo. She loved watching animals explore their spaces. And noticing how everyone found their own way.
“One morning, Pam arrived and saw something new.”
A panda had just arrived. She said quietly, near the edge of her enclosure, hugging her paws close to her tummy. Pam could tell straight away. This was her first day. Pam knelt nearby.
Hello. She said softly, "I'm Pam." The panda looked up.
I may, she whispered, "I've never been here before."
Pam nodded. That can feel big, she said. Everything looks different on a first day. May looked around. The zoo felt busy.
There were new sounds, new smells, and new faces. I don't know anyone yet, may said. Pam smiled kindly, "That's okay. You don't have to know everyone's straight away. They sat together for a moment."
Pam pointed at the trees.
They're nice to sit under.
She said, "May not it." Pam pointed up nearby animals. They're friendly, she said. They were new ones too. Slowly, may stood up.
She took one small step, then another. A monkey waved, an elephant smiled. May felt her shoulders relaxed. Pam walked beside her. Her dune really well, Pam said, "May smiled."
I think I can try, she said. By the afternoon, May was munching bamboo, watching the other animals play, and feeling a little more at home. It was time for Pam to say goodbye.
“I think I'll be okay here, may said softly.”
Pam smiled. I think so too, she said. And dreamer, that's the power of kindness. Taking things one step at a time and remembering that everyone is new sometimes. Now let's relax, even more.
Take a deep breath in and out. You can say these words out loud or gently in your heart. It's okay to feel shy. I can take my time. I can try new things.
Let's say a few more. I can make new friends. I don't have to rush. I am doing my best. I am three more before sleep.
I am safe. I am cared for. I am loved. Good night, dreamer.
May your dreams be filled with brave beginnings and peaceful rest.
I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy. I am happy.
