It's those subconscious patterns that run our lives that people don't realize...
You pick up habits, ideas, thoughts as you're growing up, wherever you grew up with your
family, college, relationships, other jobs, and that stuff stays with you. It stays kind of in your subconscious, and it's kind of running in the background, and you might not even realize it. Aaron Latif is an innovative, insightful, and transformational leader, executive coach, keynote speaker, and the CEO and founder of Engagement Lab.
Drawing from her expertise in business innovation, mindfulness, and leadership, she empowers executives and organizations to lead with greater purpose and engagement, while building cultures rooted in well-being, meaningful connection, and sustainable growth. Meditation, breath work, soundbaths, all of those help to regulate your nervous system to the point where you can start hearing and trusting.
“How do you kind of tap into our subconscious nervous system?”
I mean, that's the place where I guess tap into my dreams.
There's a lot of different ways to kind of tap into that power, but I personally love
to leverage. The living your legacy podcast, for those who live to leave a legacy. Hey, welcome back everyone to another episode of Living Your Legacy Podcasts here at Insights to Set TV Studios in Miami Beach, and it's a lovely week here during our mastermind week.
And yeah, we've got the privilege to speak to some of the greatest entrepreneurs, the taste makers, the disruptors, and like today, women and power, and the greatest business woman out there. And we got a special guest today. I did her session.
She's lovely woman. Why don't you introduce yourself? What's your business? Sure. My name is Aramleteep.
“I am the founder and CEO of Engagement Lab, which is a, we'll call it a neuroperformance-based consulting”
company. Love it. So, neuroperformance-based, right? Yes. Give me some background on that neuro-port.
Sure. So, I am a neurophysiologist by training.
I've always been fascinated by the human brain, how it works, how the whole body works.
And the entire concept behind our organization is to leverage nervous system regulation, beliefs, identity, so that our customers, our clients, can next level, their experience of life, their success in business, their performance. All right. So, nervous system regulation, right?
I'm not really, when I'm trying to regulate myself, I'm not really thinking of my nervous system, right? I'm just trying to chill out, as they say, right? Right. But you're on a different level of that.
So, tell me about nervous system regulation. So it's funny. Everyone talks about nervous system regulation today, but they talk about it, like, I'm going to take a bubble bath, or I'm going for a walk, or I'm journaling, and yes, all of those things are amazing.
I'm not saying they're not. But we work at a deeper level, I would say, so we really focus on what's driving you your chronic nervous system activation. So looking at your subconscious patterns. And when I talk about nervous system activation, it's that like sympathetic, flight,
flight, feet, freeze, fun, kind of, you know, like your constantly on the go and ready for anything.
“And that's what we want to kind of flip on its axis.”
So how do you kind of tap into our subconscious nervous system? I mean, that's the place where I only, I guess, tap into, in my dreams, right? Yes. Yes. So, great question.
Right. There's a lot of different ways to kind of tap into that power, but I personally love to leverage nighttime. So you mentioned dreams. Our most accessible time to our subconscious is at night.
So through the different phases of sleep, there are different patterns of nerve waves that are happening, and when you tap into those, and if you're listening to certain types of tracks, whether they're actual auditory tracks and someone's talking, or even just simple frequency tracks, you can alter your kind of patterns that exist in your subconscious brain. And it's our subconscious brain controls what 94, 96% of our reality and our experience
of reality. So tapping into it at night and helping reprogram it really change as your experience of reality.
Gotcha.
Almost like have you seen Zoolander? Yes. Yeah. Kind of like when Will Ferrell taps into Zoolander's brain, and he's like, "Happy!" Exactly.
Exactly. Exactly. All right. So then you take that, and then you're like, "You are a ninja." Right?
Exactly. Exactly. All right. It's kind of things out there, you know, you slip in Vegas, right, and they're like these like neural sound bass, right?
And you kind of put yourself into a neck with some water. You kind of submerge right halfway, and then it's just like, you're almost like, like, bring up more movies, almost like Professor X and X men, you know, trying to tap into that subconscious, but like, on a whole other level. Do you utilize that?
Have you ever been in one of those sound bass? I have, actually, and I do love them because of the fact, right, because you're in the
“water, you're blocking all of the stimuli that typically activate your nervous system, right?”
And so then you are more subject to whatever frequency, whatever light, whatever is happening inside that space. Yeah, you're forced to deal with yourself. Yeah. Yeah.
It's a good lesson over. Yeah. You know, some of those sound bass, you know, I'm sure some of you still brought your phone in them, you know, and you're just like, ah, must doom scroll. Okay.
But yeah, I guess, I'm that sound the extreme level. Right. Right. Not every one of your clients is like, yeah, take a dip in this, in this shared pod sound bath.
Right. Yes. But you're talking a lot about people kind of tapping into their human technology architecture. That's a lot of things that you were talking about in the session. And I only know this because I had the session with there, right?
So I'm also at an advanced level, right? I'm not just breaking out these terms, right?
I've been educated, but it sounds so powerful, right?
And it's a thing that you talk to with a lot of CEOs out there. A lot of executive, C sweet people, but athletes as well. Talk to us about this human technology architecture. Yeah, absolutely. I'm happy to.
So it's the, the name, the field, the space that I've created to really explain what is happening, A inside our body when we're kind of living our day-to-day life. And be how to up-level our level of performance and success in life. Again, it's all based on very simple science concepts, which, you know, I'm a nerd.
“So that's that's how I look at life and that's how I looked at life.”
When the nerds are the coolest, when you grow up, we're just like nerds, you know? Yeah, has tech nerds. So yeah, so it's those subconscious patterns that run our lives. So people don't realize, right? You pick up habits, ideas, thoughts as you're growing up, wherever you grow up.
You're family, college, relationships, other jobs. And that stuff stays with you. It stays kind of in your subconscious and it's kind of running in the background and you might not even realize it. Gotcha.
So you've got to, you've got to address that. You've got to look at it. Some of it's, right? Some of it's wrong. Yes.
That's what you're trying to say. Yeah. Well, I don't believe in right or wrong, but some does have an adverse effect on your life, right? It might kind of mess with your thought process about yourself.
And then you look at identity and beliefs and see what's really running the show. And when you start identifying those different aspects, you start to seek gaps in where you want to go, what you want to achieve, and where you currently are. Gotcha. So some of these subconscious thoughts that we don't even know are kind of in the background
“there they could be, you know, they could have an adverse effect on us, right?”
And kind of making kind of steering our direction in our decisions when we don't even know it. Yep. Right. Exactly.
I'm getting it now. I'm to an end. I'm buying into it.
But yeah, that's amazing.
One thing that I said during the session, it kind of reminded me of Ikhi Guy, right? Which is this alignment of, you know, it's almost like finding your passion, but on a deeper level. Right? Yes.
It's a good job into your passions, right? But into kind of what gets you up in the morning, right? So, but you're not talking about what kind of gets you up in the morning, but there is like this Venn diagram of like these four different things, right? And I kind of imagine that with your thing, like maybe a Venn diagram, right?
Yes. So what's your Venn diagram? So actually, you can use Ikhi Guy. We can totally use that, right? So imagine Ikhi Guy, but transposed on the inside of your body, right?
So one Venn or one aspect, one space is the nervous system, right? One aspect is your identity and identity structures. Another is the belief. And then kind of where they intersect in that perfect space in the middle. That is, and if it's all calibrated, that's your level of coherence.
That's where your human magnetism, your energetic field that surrounds you, basically allows
You to kind of next level when they're all aligned to like that.
Gotcha.
So that's your superpower, right?
Yes, exactly, right? Exactly. In a nutshell. You'll be able to trust your gut on a deeper subconscious level. So you've got to master your subconscious.
A thousand percent, a thousand percent. And then like you said, then your gut becomes more of a radar, more of like a radio station you tune in too, so. That's amazing. Because sometimes when I say, trust your gut, everyone's like, trust your gut, trust
your gut, right? And then I'm like, okay, trust him, I got, but then I'm just like, I can't make a decision, right? I don't really trust it, right? And then you kind of make the wrong decision and you're like, damn, you know, I know
it, right? I knew this that way. I should have done it. But I guess you'll have less of that kind of indecisiveness, right, because you have all these kind of pieces of your subconscious, but also who you are, what makes you take
kind of aligned and you're going to trust your gut even more, and it's going to be much more apparent, right? Yes. Yes, it's not. You next level, that level of decision-making, clarity, confidence, like you know who you
are and you know where you're going and you're not deflecting off of it.
“Yeah, yeah, that's so important, especially for a lot of people that are indecisive, right?”
Because mom is, mom is the worst right, right? Devil in the angel is not the devil in angel. It's almost like your mom and your dad or you, right? Yeah, I mean, those are subconscious programming, right? You've got these patterns, these voices in your head.
Yes, yeah. That's where it comes from. And then behind them, there could also, this would still be the angel in the floor, right?
But yeah, that's, that's amazing and yeah, talking about neural, like, a lot of people
talk about manifesting, right? Right. But I had one person sit here in the podcast, right? I mean, I had so many people, right, but, and I'm forgetting what they did. Well, it was like some kind of neural something, right?
But they're saying, you know, like our neural pathways are kind of like, you could think of them as normal pathways, right? You got, as the road less traveled, you got, you know, the path that's kind of well-traveled and then you got roads, right? And so the more that you think of stuff, you know, those become roads and those are
easy to travel, right? And I guess manifesting and kind of like putting the meditation, right? It's kind of reprogramming that, right, to help you think a different way. It's like, so the road less traveled, right, is maybe harder and to reprogram, and maybe a way that you need to think, right?
And so you keep on saying that and saying it, it becomes like that well-beat and path. And then you kind of have to make it that road, right? Is that a bunch of BS, or that's actually kind of true? It's actually very true, so I actually talk about that in my book, "Live Engaged" is the science behind meditation, okay?
And the reason meditation works, the reason breath work works, the reason all of these modalities work is that you are creating that space in the nervous system, right? And you do have to reinforce that road in order for it to appear, right? So it has, you literally can create pathways, neuronal networks in your brain, so that
by default, you always trust your gut, and so it's a muscle, it's like any other muscle, right?
“It's like going to the gym, so you have to keep choosing and trusting your gut in order”
to build that muscle and meditation, breath work, soundbats, all of those help to regulate your nervous system to the point where you can start hearing and trusting that gut. And how do you set up a business on this, right? That's a great question. Basically, I lived two worlds, right?
I was trying to understand what was going on around me while I was working, right? So early days, I coached patients, and I could see how certain patients did better than others, even though they had the same condition, same therapy, everything was the same, but something was different, something one did better than the other. And then I would kind of see that in real life, right?
You see athletes, even watching the Olympics, you see certain athletes do better than other athletes. You see certain corporate moguls do better than others, and you want to know why, and my brain wanted to know why. So I started studying, what are they doing, how are they doing it, how do they live?
And that's where the entire concept came from, is that that level of internal alignment
“comes from working on your inside versus looking on your outside?”
And you felt that, you know, your target market, working in the corporate world, do you we're seeing a lot of CC executives, that was your target market. These are the people that, you know, they need to trust their gut, they need to make important decisions, right? And so when you're reaching out to them, right, because these are the people at the top,
Right?
Why do they have to listen to you?
They've already listened to themselves, and they've reached the top, right? Why do you get them to say, well, you know, she is saying a lot of truths, right? And yeah, I need to kind of let go of my personal self and, you know, trust trust you, right? How do you get these, these, these big people out of them are even narcissists, right?
All they do is think of themselves, right? So, yeah, how do you get them to sign up? Honestly, it's speaking their language, right?
“Like you have to learn to speak their language, so if they're, you know, they've got a six”
figure business, they want to take it to a seven eight or nine figure business, how is that going to happen? It's not going to happen by doing the same things that got them to the six figure level. They're going to have to be a different person, they're going to have to make different
choices, they're going to have to lead with a different level of authority, where is that coming from? That's not going to come from outside of themselves, it comes from inside of themselves. And you have to speak their language, so if it's about dollars, we talk about dollars, if we talk about that they want to scale and they want to position for an acquisition,
we talk that language, I can talk that language with them as much as I can understand the neuroscience. Gotcha, Gotcha. So, yeah, I mean, speak the language, it makes so much, so much sense, so much sense, but yeah, if you got that CEO that they got seedling over their head, right?
They have reached that, because it, you know, making the first million, they say it's
really hard. Would you get there, making the next five, ten, right, is another level, but then you talk about making that 70, that hundred, right? And you had a story where you actually helped the company go from, you know, X zeros to adding another zero, right?
Tell us a little bit about that. That was pretty incredible. Yeah, absolutely. So when I joined this organization, they were bringing in 90 million in revenue. And I already quite big.
That's already quite big. Yeah, you're dealing with the big hitters. Yeah, you're dealing with the big hitters. But the private equity group that on the organization wanted to scale and they knew, they did. A private debt.
Why not? 90 million, not enough. We didn't want to get more. They didn't invest it. They wanted to, you know, extract, you know, extend their revenue.
So we worked on the traditional aspects of business. We looked at their go-to-market strategy, their positioning, the competitive space, the landscape, what was the potential to grow, right? So the traditional aspects of building and scaling. But then we took it one level deeper.
And we looked at the group themselves, the individuals at the table that were making the decisions.
“And whether they could hold that level of stress, I mean, let's call a spade a spade, right?”
They're looking to scale 10, you know, whatever X. And they needed to be able to hold that. And then they also need to be able to interact with each other and have those conversations at that level, whether or not a certain buyer is the right buyer, whether or not they truly can bring up this positioning to this level, whether or not they can convince themselves,
their own employees, and then the company acquiring them, whether they could, they would get their investment back, right? Yeah. And so that was the work that we kind of double clicked on, as I say, and we went a little bit deeper and looked at whether or not they would be able to hold that.
And we worked with them for a few months while doing everything else in the background. And yeah, after I think it was three years, they got acquired for 900 millions. So they got their investment back. Yeah, yeah. Amazing.
Amazing. So yeah, I asked everyone, kind of, what are you most excited about? What's maybe at the forefront of your field right now, or what you got cooking, you know? Let me know. What's exciting on your list?
I am so excited just of this whole field that's kind of coming up and rising, neuroperformance, because it's an aspect of performance that no one's really considered, but it makes so much intuitive sense, especially again, science nerd. And I'm taking it to the next level, we're exploring, you know, neuroperformance retreats,
masterminds, different ways to work with different groups of people, basically.
Yeah. So yeah, I just want to take this to the masses. Yeah.
“I mean, people don't, people see the muscles, but you've got to train your brain, right?”
Yes. I feel like you're a percent. Maybe we need to make those t-shirts. A bumper sticker is training the brain. I love it.
I love it. I would definitely invest. And so how do people find you? They can quite simply go to my website, um, www.heromletafe.com. I am on LinkedIn.
I'm on Instagram. I can be found anywhere, so. Right. Spill AirMletafe, because that's a very unique name, very pretty name. So.
So it's E-R-E-M-L-A-T-I-M.
All right.
And then from there, they can find all your socials and LinkedIn and everything.
Absolutely. All right. Executives, right?
“You think you're making enough that you got to go internally.”
And we need to raise a roof on your profits and everything that you can achieve. It's all right there. Absolutely. But you got to unlock it. Yes.
Yes. And train your brain.
So yeah, it's been amazing to have you on the show and here in the podcast.
So what do you think of the new studios here? It's they're stunning. They're beautiful. Yeah. I mean, in and of itself, it's worth the trips.
And in 100 day going with, you know, the filming and everything and then the podcast.
It's been wonderful.
“It's been very low-key, very low-stross, very, very easy to work with everybody here and”
very easy to find. All right. Nice. So yeah. Thanks again for joining us.
Sure. That's been a pleasure. And thank you guys for joining us. And yeah.
“If you want to learn how to train your brain and dive deep into her story of, you know, her”
childhood and how she, you know, kind of grew her business and everything, then you got a tune into her episode when it is. But thank you guys. And we'll see you next time. Cheers, everyone.
