U.S. Central Command today announced the first reported U.S. casualties from the Joint
U.S. Israeli Operation against Iran. Three service members were killed. Five others were seriously wounded.
“A U.S. official not authorized to speak publicly says all were serving in the U.S. Army”
in Kuwait. Israeli authorities say at least nine people were killed in an Iranian missile attack in central Israel. Iran says an interim committee will lead the country following the death of the country's Supreme Leader.

Iranian officials say the interim committee will consist of three members.
President Masu Pazeskin, the head of the Judiciary, and another senior official. The country's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Hamanate, was killed in an air strike at his compound in the Capitol, Tehran. Israel says its simultaneously bomb three meetings filled with senior political and military figures at the start of the massive air campaign Saturday.
Iran's assembly of experts, consisting of 88 senior Islamic clerics, is supposed to choose
“the country's Supreme Leader and may well do so.”
But given the current crisis, the interim committee will lead for now. Greg Mayri, NPR News, Washington. A senior White House official tells NPR President Trump says the new potential leaders in
Iran have indicated they want to talk with him.
And he plans to do that eventually. No timeline was provided. Iran's foreign ministry spokesman spoke today to NPR. As Willi Obaga said, Iran will continue to fight foreign aggression and foreign domination. The Iranians have shown that when confronted with a foreign aggression, foreign domination,
they will appear united and they will fight for their freedom, for their independence and for their dignity and sovereignty. He said the Iranian people have no problem with the American people. They believe this is the U.S. administration's war of choice.
“The U.S. military said today it struck an Iranian warship at the start of its attacks”
yesterday. NPR's Jain O'Ref has more on the story. The U.S. military central command said the Iranian Corvette, a small warship, was currently sinking at an Iranian port in the Gulf of Iran after being hit. The report could not be independently confirmed.
Sent common outs to strike on the social media platform X, and quoted President Trump calling on Iranian troops and security forces to lay down their weapons. Iran has warned it will attack U.S. interests as well as bases in the region, including commercial vessels. Reuters quoted shipping sources as saying three tankers were damaged and separate Iranian
attacks in Saturday. Jain O'Ref and Pair News, among this is NPR News in Washington. The FBI is investigating an early morning shooting at a bar in Austin, Texas, as a potential active terrorism. Two people were killed in 14 others were wounded.
The suspect was shot dead by police. The conflict in the Middle East comes as athletes from around the world, including Iran, Israel, and the U.S., are gathering an Italy for the winter Paralympic Games. NPR's Bryan Man reports that travel disruptions are affecting some of the athletes. The decision by Israel in the U.S. to launch military strikes against Iran breached the symbolic
Olympic troops approved by the United Nations, which runs through mid-March, hundreds of athletes from around the world are gathering an Italy for the Paralympic Games, including skiers from Iran and Israel. The family of Australian Paralympic skier Michael Milton has reportedly been trapped in Doha Cutter after airline flights were cancelled because of Iranian counterstrikes.
The Paralympic Games were already overshadowed by military conflict after Olympic officials allowed Russian athletes to compete under their national flag despite the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, a growing number of countries are boycotting the opening ceremony, Bryan Man, and PR News Malon. Go outside Tuesday morning and look up.
You might be able to see a total lunar eclipse. The Earth will be between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow that covers the full moon, which will look red, because of bits of sunlight filtering through the Earth's atmosphere. It will be visible from North America, Central America, and the Western part of South America. The next total lunar eclipse will not be until late, 28.
