"Lie from NPR News, I'm Lakshmi Singh.

President Trump may be attempting to end the war with Iran without forcing Iran to reopen the straight of Hormuz according to the Wall Street Journal's reporting. Trump has said other countries need the waterway more than the U.S. does. But in Pierce Tom Bowman says it's a much different picture for the average American consumer.

"I'm paying a dollar 10 more per gallon per gas, and I was a month ago, it fertilized to prices have gone up and the growing season is going to start soon, liquefied natural gas and Europe has doubled in cost. And it's only going to get worse for all of us if they don't get that straight open somehow. And that's a laborious process to do that.

You have to create a combat, your patrol, first of all, 50 square miles of radius I'm told,

and then send in line sweepers to make sure you get all those.

And then after that, destroyers would have to go in to basically escort the oil tankers

through the straight. So, that is really key here, I think." In Pierce Tom Bowman, Triple A says for the first time since the fall of 2022, the average price for a gallon of regular gas tops $4. The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Colorado's law that bans conversion therapy for

LGBTQ+ youth. Colorado Public Radio's bent to Berkland reports the case was brought on behalf of a therapist who said she had the right to speak freely with her clients. Colorado's law prohibits mental health professionals in the state from attempting to change a minor client's sexual orientation or gender identity during talk therapy sessions.

Major psychological governing bodies say the practice is harmful, and the state argued it

has the authority to regulate licensed therapists. But in eight to one high court majority cited with a Christian counselor, who argues the law banning certain therapies violates the first amendment. The majority found the Colorado law regulate speech based on viewpoint and permits some types of speech but not others.

One of the sponsors of Colorado's law said the ruling would put some children in jeopardy. For MPR News, I'm bent to Berkland in Vale, Colorado. A federal judge has struck down the core of President Trump's executive order barring federal funding for NPR and PBS. The court says the order violates the broadcasters first amendment rights.

The ruling's impact remains unclear in the wake of cost-cutting measures and closures that have already begun at member stations across the U.S.

A U.S. district court says construction of the White House ballroom must stop until Congress

authorizes its completion in a social media post. President Trump says the National Trust for Historic Preservation does not appreciate his efforts to spruce up buildings like the White House.

The ballroom's estimated to cost at least $300 million.

Before the close, the Dow was up more than 1100 points. You're listening to NPR News. New guidelines from the American Heart Association recommended diet rich in plant proteins and healthy oil, such as olive oil. The advice, clashes with the messages, health and human services secretary Robert F. Kennedy

Jr. emphasizes. The Trump administration has placed protein including meat and cheese at the top of a food pyramid, but the Heart Association says a heart-healthy diet includes plenty of vegetables and fruits and emphasizes minimizing saturated fats. The two sets of guidelines are on the same page when it comes to consuming whole grains as

opposed to packaged foods made with refined grains, choosing minimally processed foods, as well as limiting added sugars. Poor nutrition is strongly associated with heart disease, the leading cause of depth for both men and women in the U.S., an estimated 80% of heart disease can be prevented or delayed, and lifestyle changes, including a healthy diet can help, Alison Aubrey and PR News.

A jury in Akron, Ohio Corruption trial of two former first-energy core executive says it cannot reach a verdict. The defendant's former CEO Chuck Jones and former senior vice president Michael Dowling

were charging connection with a $60 million bribery screen scheme that is.

The judge says she will consider a mistrial emotion at a later time. NASA is getting ready to send out four astronauts on his historic trip around the moon and back launch a schedule tomorrow evening, NASA's last crude lunar mission was 54 years ago with Apollo 17.
