President Trump says Iran has until eight o'clock tomorrow night Eastern time to reopen

the state of Hormuz to commercial ship traffic.

Otherwise the President wrote on social media, U.S. forces will bomb Iran's power plants and other infrastructure. That's a threat Trump has issued previously before twice extending the deadline.

NPR's Tom Bowman says the White House is celebrating the weekend rescue of a second

U.S. airman, whose F-15 was shot down over the mountains of southwest Iran. Several hundred or more special operations forces took part in this rescue effort. And what made this particularly challenging was the mountainous terrain. But U.S. forces trained for this very scenario. We're treating it down pilot in the mountains of the American west.

And the air crews themselves go through rigorous training to survive and invade an enemy. That's NPR's Tom Bowman. President is scheduled to speak to reporters at the White House this afternoon.

Israeli attacks in Lebanon yesterday left more than three dozen people dead.

NPR's Lauren Fraer says one of the largest Israeli strikes occurred in Beirut's southern suburbs, where a running-in-backed Hezbollah has offices. Residents posted this video to social media showing people covered in gray dust, fearing the wounded out of a collapsed building on slings made of blankets. Israel often issues evacuation orders, but this attack in Beirut's coastal area of

Genach came without warning, hitting a dense residential area near a public hospital. Health officials say a four-year-old girl was among those killed in another Israeli air strike near the coastal city of Sidon, which has absorbed thousands of displaced people from farther south, Israel had warned her entire village to flee. The Vatican-led aid convoy was canceled on Easter Sunday for security reasons.

Lauren Fraer and PR News Beirut. The four astronauts on NASA's Artemis 2 mission are scheduled to begin a fly-by of the

moon today, traveling farther from Earth and any humans before them.

Brendan Byrne with Central Florida Public Media says that record has been held for decades by the Apollo 13 mission.

And it's far this point, the Orion spacecraft will be just over a quarter of a million miles

from home. During the fly-by of the far side of the moon, the crew will take geological observations and photos of the surface. NASA's Kelsey Young says, even though satellites have observed this part of the moon, the human eye can see things cameras can't pick up.

We understand what it's made out of. We understand the topography, but we don't know what the crew are going to see in these specific illumination conditions from a scientific perspective, and that's exciting. The crew's expected to observe about 35 geological features snapping thousands of photos at the end of the fly-by of the crew will begin its journey home, splashing down Friday

off the coast of California. Friend Pyrenees, I'm Brendan Byrne in Orlando. This is NPR News. Americans continue to pay more at the gasoline pumps, as U.S. and Israeli attacks against Iran move through week six.

Triple A says, "regular gas is now averaging $4.12 a gallon nationwide." That's up another 13 cents in the last week. Triple A says diesel, as averaging nearly $5.62 a gallon. UCLA is celebrating its first national championship in women's college basketball. The Bruinsbeat South Carolina yesterday 79-51 for their first title.

A Steve Futterman reports UCLA never trailed in the game.

What was expected to be a close contest turned into a blowout. UCLA's veteran team dominated all facets of the game at half-time the Bruins led by 13 in the second half they blew the game wide open, leading by as many as 35. The game's top score was UCLA's Gabriella Huckes with 21 points. I pictured this moment many times, being a national champion, and so to do it with this

group, it just really means everything. UCLA's Star Center Lauren Bets was named the final force most outstanding player. This was the final game at UCLA for its senior-laden class. Now players like Bets, Huckes and Kiki Rice get ready for the WNBA, all three are expected to be picked when the draft takes place next week.

For MPR News, I'm Steve Futterman, in Phoenix. UCLA finished the season with a record of 37 in one. The NCAA men's national championship game is tonight in Indianapolis. Michigan battles UConn in the title matchup. I'm Dave Maddingley in Washington.
