Vice President J.D. Vance is on his way back to the US after peace talks and Pakistan this weekend between the US and Iran broke down. He told reporters that his team went to Pakistan and good faith, but that they couldn't make any headway with Iran's negotiators. Vance says one red line is Iran's nuclear weapons program.
The simple fact is that we need to see an affirmative commitment that they will not seek a nuclear weapon, and they will not seek the tools that would enable them to quickly achieve a nuclear weapon. That is the core goal of the President of the United States.
“And that's what we've tried to achieve through these negotiations.”
The war has caused thousands of deaths and is disrupted, the global economy. Demonstrators over high gas prices in Ireland are continuing this weekend on Saturday, police arrested protesters blocking entrances to Ireland's only oil refinery. Vehicle convoys and roadblocks are also causing traffic jams and leading to the closing of several major roadways.
The protests have been growing since the begin on Tuesday. Democratic leaders are calling on Congressman Eric Swallwell to end his bid for Governor of California following allegations made by a former staffer that he sexually assaulted her.
NPR is not independently verified the allegation, which was first published in the San Francisco
Chronicle and CNN, and Piers Elena Moore as more. Swallwell is denying the sexual assault allegations saying in a video posted online Friday that they were absolutely false, but he also said this.
“"I've certainly made mistakes in judgment in my past, but those mistakes are between”
me and my wife and to her I apologize deeply for putting her in this position." Several women have accused him of sexual misconduct. California's primary is set for June, and Swallwell was seen as a frontrunner in the race. Now, his standing in Congress is also uncertain.
In a statement, House Democratic leaders stopped short of calling for his resignation, but demanded he end his gubernatorial campaign and that there'd be a quote "swift investigation," Elena Moore and Piers News.
Americans waged more than $165 billion on sports in 2025, that's according to the American
Gaming Association, and it's not just adults, young people are increasingly taking part legally or otherwise. And Piers Sequoia Corrilla reports that's prompting new concerns from parents about how to talk to their kids about gambling. Experts say the most common mistake parents make is waiting to talk about gambling until they're
worried about their kid. "You're coming in and talking with your teenager about problem gambling, but you're
“coming in fire and brimstone, this is the worst thing in the world."”
That's Matt Mastar. He's an addiction counselor in Pittsburgh. The teenagers are going to shut down, they're not going to want to have that conversation. Most of the SARS clients are boys and young men. He says parents need to take a beat and avoid a confrontation, whether or not you're
worried, approach it with curiosity, not judgment, Sequoia Corrilla and Piers News. And you're listening to NPR News. Police say a man armed with machete was shot and killed Saturday morning in New York City subway station, witnesses say the man stabbed three people before he was shot, but officials say none of those injuries appear to be life threatening.
The incident occurred at the 42nd Street Grand Central Station, which is one of the busiest subway stops in the city. Cold temperatures have cut down sweet cherry blooms across much of central and eastern Washington, Oregon this spring, Northwest Public Broadcasting's Anna King reports.
First Northwest blooms were teased open by a mild winter and warm spring temperatures.
In whack, freezing temps hit, killing the blooms before they get pollinated. Matthew Whiting is a professor who specializes in cherry trees at Washington State University Research Station in Prasser. If you're still some pruning to do, you might be a little bit less aggressive with pruning in other words, leaving a little bit more wood in those trees.
If you felt like you had significant frost damage. The cold snaps also mowed down some asparagus, but with warmer temps now, farmers say they've got some fresh grass headed to market soon. round with a six stroke lead, but by the 12th hole, he'd given it up to Cameron Young, young when the players championship in his last start. He finished the day with a seven of your 65 at a one stroke lead, McElroy battled back with a birdie on the 14th, and then now tied for the lead, going into Sunday's final round.
