"Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Louise Skivone.

Pakistan's Army Chief arrived in Tehran today as part of its ongoing mediation efforts

between Iran and the U.S. as Betsy Joel's reports this comes after President Trump suggested another round of talks could be held in Pakistan within days."

The timing of possible talks remains uncertain, however, as three of Pakistan's key mediators

were outside of the country on Wednesday. They include the country's army chief, Asim Waneer, along with Pakistan's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, who left for diplomatic visits to Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Bakai, told Iranian state media that exchanges

with the U.S. have continued through Pakistan, after an initial round of talks in Islamabad last weekend, ended without a deal. In a press briefing, White House press secretary Caroline Levitt called Pakistan the "only mediator in this negotiation." For NPR News, I'm Betsy Joel's and Islamabad.

Swing voters in Georgia say the war in Iran is going poorly and will lead to even more economic pressures back home. These voters recently participated in online focus groups, served by NPR's Ashley Lopez. The 13 voters who participated in these groups voted for Biden in 2020 and then Trump in 2024.

And all 13 said they don't think the war is going well.

They say they're concerned the president is focused on the wrong issues. Don, who participated under the condition her last name would not be used, said she's particularly frustrated that the president is not focused on the economy. "Everything is higher and it's not going down like he said, cost of living of everything, food, oil, housing, health care, you name it."

Nearly all participants said they feel more economic anxiety now than they did before Trump took office again. Ashley Lopez and PR News.

Maine could become the first state to impose a moratorium on new data centers amid growing

concerns about impacts on electricity rates and the environment. But as Kevin Miller, with Maine Public Radio reports, the state's governor has not said whether she will sign the measure. One maker's and Maine's legislature passed the bill prohibiting new permits through November 2027.

For data centers requiring more than 20 megawatts of power. For to say the temporary ban will give the state time to develop guidelines to protect electric rate payers, the environment, and host communities from the power and water-hungry data centers. But lawmakers didn't exempt a project plan for the site of a now-shuttered paper mill,

which Democratic Governor Janet Mills has said needed to be included in the bill. Meanwhile, other states are considering similar bands, and some cities have imposed local restrictions on the centers, which are proliferating to meet the needs of artificial intelligence. For NPR News, I'm Kevin Miller and Augusta Maine. The Dow Jones industrial average lost 72 points today, but on the positive side, the S&P 500

close at its highest level ever, at 722. This is NPR News in Washington. The National Weather Service is advising of a very dynamic weather pattern across the central United States and Great Lakes for cast to produce severe thunderstorms after a Tuesday overnight of heavy thunderstorms in parts of Michigan, the damage property, cut-off, power,

and flooded streets continued stormy weathers for cast across the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Ohio Valley Regents. Hartsfield, Jackson, Atlanta International Airport remains the world's busiest airport for passenger traffic, despite Chicago battling for the top spot. That's from preliminary data from the industry group, airports, council, international

world, Marlin Hyde, from Member Station W. A. B.E. reports. The report shows that Atlanta's airport saw over 106 million passengers in 2025, a slight drop from the previous year. Chicago O'Hare International Airport ranks first for aircraft movements. Kyle Townsend is a hospitality professor at Georgia State University.

The gap between Hartsfield and its competitors is a fairly significant number of people. It doesn't look like we are likely to lose that ground anytime soon, assuming there aren't any significant economic headwinds.

Dubai International Airport again ranked second with over 95 million passengers followed by Tokyo.

Friend PR News on Marlin Hyde and Atlanta. The French government is pressing the Department of Homeland Security to release the 86-year-old French widow of an American military veteran from Immigration, custody in Louisiana. It overstayed her visa after her husband and Alabama resident died this winter. I'm Louise Skivoni and PR Neat.

We've all been there, maybe somebody tells you too much about the twist ending of a movie or they tell you who dies at the end. In other words, you've run into a spoiler.

How should you handle spoilers and what even counts as a spoiler?

We'll tell you how we handle spoilers as critics on NPR's pop culture hacky hour. Listen via the NPR app or wherever you get your podcasts.
