Live from NPR News, I'm Dale Wilman.

A Pakistan flagged oil tanker has become the first carry to transit through the Stratophore

Moose with crudes since the U.S. blockade of the waterway earlier this week.

As NPR's Jackie Northam reports, this comes after Iran opened the Strat today on the condition. U.S. sticks with its ceasefire agreements. There have been confusing statements from Iran about opening the Stratophore Moose, an illustration of the competing power structures in the country. For in Minister Abbas, Audarchy first announced

all commercial ships could transit the Stratophore President Trump applauded the move but said the U.S. blockade of Iranian vessels would remain until negotiations with Iran ended.

Iran's powerful revolutionary guard corn navy command then issued its own statement, saying

all ships needed its permission to pass through the Stratophore and if the U.S. blockade continued Iran would take reciprocal measures. Only the new Supreme Leader moached about Haminayi, Wadian, saying it is "conditionally open," Jackie Northam and PR News. Gas prices remain high as the recent fighting in Iran continues to disrupt oil supplies

ahead of the summer travel season and as NPR's Windsor Johnston reports, despite a White House prediction of relief by late summer, some experts say that may be unrealistic. Treasury Secretary Scott Bezos told reporters this week that gas prices could fall to around $3 a gallon by late summer. But energy experts say that's a bold claim and far

from certain. Michael Weber is a professor at the University of Texas at Austin.

How long will it take for the system recover? It's at least weeks. I mean, it looks like it's months to me, just to get the flows restored. Just to get the tinkers filled at the beginning. But there's also all the damage, equipment or infrastructure in the vertical that was attacked. That will take months or years to fix. Weber says there's no quick way to reverse what's driving prices right now, with global

supply disruptions still rippling through the market. And summer demand on the rise costs could stay high for some time. Windsor Johnston and PR News, Washington Congress has approved a short-term extension of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, also known as FISA and Paris Cloudy Agressalist reports that the controversial law was set to expire on Monday.

Congressional leaders had sought to extend the key national intelligence tool for five years.

However, members from both sides of the aisle thwarted that plan as they sought more stringent privacy protections for U.S. citizens. Now, members must go back to the drawing table to come up with a compromise before the new April 30th deadline. The tool is section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which allows targeted warrantless surveillance. The government says the intelligence collected underpins a huge share of the president's daily

intelligence briefings, but critics, both Democratic and Republican, have long been concerned about the government reviewing Americans' private information gathered as part of the surveillance. Cloudy Salis and PR News. And this is NPR News. If you've ever driven long distance in an electric car, you know how much of a hassle it can be to power up. If you're lucky, it's half an hour, but it's often longer. But in China, it can be as fast

as filling a gas tank and PR's genre, which has our story for the back seat of a car in China. I'm sitting in an SUV made by the company Neo, or parked by a small structure that looks kind of like a one car garage without walls, or like those places where you might get a quick oil change, but there's no oil. The car is about to get a fresh battery. No more waiting to charge up. Neo has recognized that long charge times are one of the main reasons keeping people from buying

EVs, so it's installed nearly 4,000 battery swap stations around the world. Most are in China, of course.

Neo executive Jason Wu says in February, the company hit a milestone, completing 100 million

battery swaps since the service was first rolled out in Beijing eight years ago. Neo says it's saved drivers more than 83 million hours. John Ruich and PR News at a car battery swapping station in Beijing. Matt Fitzpatrick has a one stroke lead over Victor Huffland going into the week end at the Heritage Gallery tournament underway at Hilton Head Fitzpatrick played a bogey free day to finish with a 63. Huffland low played in the afternoon with a difficult win, but still managed

to 65. Harris English sits four off the lead while Scotty Sheffler shot a 67 and his seven strokes back. It was another strong week for Wall Street that Dow was up 868 points than the Azdaq up 365 points. I'm Dale Wilman and PR News. What happens when our political party becomes

the prism through which we see every other aspect of our identities. What we're living through I think

is really the two parties taking opposite sides on whether we want to keep making this type of social progress or whether we want to go back in time. This is the MPR's coach podcast and the the NPR app or wherever you get your pockets.
