U.S. and Iran set to expire in four. President Trump has been pushing for an end to the war in Iran, and press Israel to hold its offensive in Lebanon, home to his beloved militants allied with Iran. But Trump says until there's a deal with Iran's leadership, the U.S. Navy will maintain its blockade on Iranian ports.
It's been six months since Trump declared the war in Gaza had ended, but for the two
million Palestinians in the territory, that ceasefire has not brought a new beginning.
NPR is on a spot-up, spoke with people in Gaza about their lives, and NPR is Amitrawi brings us his reporting. Nearly everyone in Gaza is living in makeshift tents or bombed out buildings, squeezed into just under half the territory, on a sliver of land along the sea, Israeli troops occupy the rest.
Israel and the U.S. say there will be no reconstruction until Hamas disarms, and aid into Gaza remains restricted.

But he says people in Gaza don't know what comes next, and he can't see a future. There's still no international peacekeeping force on the ground. Israel's prime minister says Gaza will be demilitarized the easy way, voluntarily, or the hard way, militarily, with no timeline for Israeli withdrawal. According to Human Rights Watch, more than 9,000 Salvadorans have been deported back to El Salvadoras since President Trump took office last year. Once in their country, many face a grim future, including detention for years. And Pierre Sergio Martinez-Biltran has that story. Lawyers, researchers, and humanitarian groups say many Salvadoran deportees are in prison
up on their arrival. They can then be caught off from contacting families and attorneys. Many of them have no criminal record in the U.S. or El Salvador. All of this is the result of an emergency power imposed four years ago by El Salvador President Najib Bukele.

The non-profit used the 11 million dollar contract from the Office of Refugee Resettlement
to fund shelters for minors entering the U.S. without a parent or adult. The cut of was in the works before tensions flared between the President and Pope Leo the 14th over the U.S. war with Iran. Federal authorities reached out the non-profit late March of our cutting the funds. For decades, Catholic charities in Miami has used the money to provide a form of foster
care system for migrant children. The contract started in the early 60s with Operation Pedro Pan that resettled thousands of Cuban children. The non-profit's sheltering services will be forced to shut down within three months. It's unclear what will happen to the migrant children currently in shelters.
For NPR News, I'm Simon Atrometo in Miami. The singer David Spelled D4VD has been a rest of her murder seven months after the dismembered body. The teenage girl was found in his car. Cynthia's regional treatment Los Angeles Police say David is being held without bail.
In 2021, the singer rose to fame on TikTok with hits like romantic homicide, but abruptly canceled his world tour last September after human remains were found in a Tesla registered in his name at an LA tow lot. Officials later identified them as those of Celeste Reva's Hernandez. Her remains were found the day after she would have turned 15.
