President Trump says negotiations with Iran on ending the war will resumen Pakistan tomorrow.

“In a social media post this morning, he said U.S. officials would be returning to his”
Lama-Bad late Monday for more negotiations. But then he also resumed his threats to target civilian infrastructure if Iran doesn't make a deal. Note, "We're offering a very fair and reasonable deal and I hope they take it because if they don't, the United States is going to knock out every single power plant and every
single bridge in Iran. No more Mr. Nice guy, exclamation point." NPR's Tamariki, "It's not clear if Iran plans to attend." In another truth-social post today, Trump said the U.S. Navy intercepted an Iranian flagship. To try to get past the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, it said the Navy blew a hole
in the engine room and that Marines now have custody of the ship.
Place in Shreepport, Louisiana are investigating domestic related shootings early today at two different homes. They say eight people were killed and two others were wounded. Corporal Chris Bordelon said all of those who died were children.
“Right now, we have at least 10 individuals that are struck by the Firewines night in a domestic”
disturbance. Eight of these individuals are deceased. The ranges of the precedents are from one user base to the Croixer's team here today. He said some of the children were related to the suspect who died in a police chase after fleeing the scene in a stolen cart.
He was identified only as an adult male. No officers were hurt, authorities are asking the public to come forward with pictures, video, or other information. Gunfire also erupted early this morning in downtown Iowa City. Police say they had responded to a large fight near the University of Iowa and heard shots.
Officials say five people were wounded for one critically. The window to register to vote in this year's primary elections is closing soon in a handful of states. NPR's Hansi Luong reports these states are holding primaries next month. Eligible voters in Georgia and Kentucky when a gas balance in the May 19th primaries have
until Monday to register. West Virginia's registration deadline for its May 12th primary is on Tuesday and they're still about a week left to register online for Louisiana's primary and a sign up online by mail or in person for the primary in Oregon. Virginia is holding a special election for a congressional redistricting referendum on Tuesday
and Eligible Virginians who have not registered yet can still do so in person at an early voting location or their polling site on Tuesday. If you've already registered to vote, you may want to check your status on your state election officials website. Eligible voters can sometimes be removed from lists, especially if they move, change their

from Vermont Public Liam Elder Conner's reports. As many as 442 private colleges could close or merge in the next decade, that's according to a new projection from here on consulting group. Peter Stokes is managing director at Huron. He says rural schools which can struggle to draw new students are at a higher risk of
closing. And if it is difficult to attract students to your campus, it's going to be very difficult to have a sustainable operation. According to federal data since 2012, about a thousand U.S. colleges have gone out of business. For NPR News, I'm Liam Elder Conner's.
This morning at Cape Canaveral Florida, there we go. Big water. We're a T-minus. Blue Origin launched its new Glenn rocket into low earth orbit. Its booster came back to earth about 10 minutes later.
This is the company's first landing of a reused booster.
The mission is key to Blue Origin's efforts to show it can compete with Elon Musk's Space X Falcon 9 rocket. China held its second half marathon including humanoid robots today. In last year's race, most of the robots were able to finish. Those who did were slower than human runners.
This year several robots were faster than professional athletes. The winner finished the race in 50 minutes and 26 seconds. But several minutes faster than the world record set by a Ugandan runner last month. I'm Nora Rom, NPR News in Washington.
