U.S. officials say the military destroyed several small Iranian boats in the state of
Formus. And Iranians attacked U.S. ships protecting oil tankers and an oil port in the United Arab Emirates. And PR's Quil Lawrence reports on the attacks amid President Trump's latest effort to reopen the straight.
Admiral Brad Cooper said that U.S. forces are working to create a safe passage for stranded oil tankers through the straight, and that this is a defensive mission on behalf of the international community affected by Iran's blockade. Speaking to reporters by phone, he said U.S. warships and tankers took no damage. "I can confirm there's been no U.S. military ships hit, and I wouldn't go into detail
of whether the sea's fire is over or not."
