NPR's Julia Simon reports fur-vo energy, a geothermal company, raised $1.8 billion in its

initial public offering. Houston-based fur-vo energy sold about 70 million shares, giving it an initial valuation of around $7.6 billion. Geothermal energy involves digging deep into the earth's surface, and the U.S. has a lot of geothermal potential.

Geothermal companies like fur-vo are a good bet for investors right now. There's a lot of demand for energy, but the Trump administration has put up roadblocks for solar and wind projects, yet the administration looks favorably on geothermal. Geothermal is another way to drill baby drill, and it provides reliable energy with far less climate pollution than fossil fuels, Julia Simon and Pernus.
