In California, Orange County Fire Officials have announced they have eliminated the catastrophic
“threat of explosion in an overheating chemical tank.”
They say pressure has been relieved and the temperature stabilized overnight, tens of thousands of residents remain under evacuation orders. Regional officials say the U.S. is close to a deal with Iran to end the war and reopen the state of Formus, Iran has indicated disagreements remain. This is really a superficial deal. It's just a one-page understanding, versus the 159-page deal that we had in 2015 to put Iran's nuclear program in a box and under a rigorous monitoring. It is obviously much better compared to the alternative, which is a return to a conflict which had turned into a loose-loosed dynamic.
Reuters reports that Iran's top negotiator is in Doha today for talks on a potential deal with Qatar's Prime Minister. Texas wraps up primary elections tomorrow, and the most anticipated contest is the Republican

The four-term Senator John Cornenset that this race now feels like it has the most at stake out of any race he's been in, and that's absolutely true for him. He's mostly run comfortable races, but that endorsement from Trump raised this to a level he hasn't faced, and for Paxton he sort of moved forward as if he's already won.
He's focusing most of his time on the general election opponent, Democrat James Talarico, and posed before the endorsement showed Paxton with anywhere from a three to twelve point lead, now with the President's backing, that lead is expected to be larger. On this Memorial Day, the nation mourns its fallen service members, including at Arlington National Cemetery outside of Washington.
President Trump is to lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier there later today, 118 American soldiers fought and died for Ukraine, and keep honored them today, and appears Hannapala-Marinco reports.

Triple A says gas prices for regular average $4.50 nationally today, that's up around 50 percent
