Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Tam Ronan.

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a ceasefire deal.

It includes a series of pilot security zones where has both of fighters would be banned.

That's according to a joint statement released after the fourth round of U.S. mediated talks in Washington. Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yuckel Leiter, says, "Under the agreement has both of fighters will have to leave the area around the southern border with Israel." Kuwait, though, says its airport was also struck, killing an Indian worker. Its health ministry says more than 60 people were also wounded.

Kuwait has borne the brunt of Iran's counter-attacks since the ceasefire deal between the U.S. and Iran and April. Both accused the other of violating that agreement. Ayyobotrawi and Pernus Dubai New York lawmakers are amending the state constitution to join the national weed district

Democrats who control New York's government say they're responding to new maps adopted in Republican-controlled states like Texas. would also repeal the state's prohibition on gerrymandering. "You can't just say we'll do it right and let everyone else do it wrong and hope for the best because New York will suffer if that happens." Republicans, like Assemblymember Joe Simpelinsky, oppose the amendment. "I don't view this as protecting democracy, quite the contrary, I view it as a democratic

party, power grab." The amendment must be approved again by lawmakers in 2027 and would go to the ballot later that year. For MPR News, I'm Jimmy Vealcon, did Albany. President Trump Wednesday signed an executive order that removed civil service protection

for an estimated 8,000 federal workers making all of them at will employees, meaning they can be fired at any time without cause. And from Washington, you're listening to NPR News. The World Health Organization has reduced the official case count of Ebola outbreaks in Central Africa.

His NPR's Jonathan Lambert reports the outbreak still poses a great risk. Last week, over 1,000 people were suspected to be infected with Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. But his testing has ramped up, health officials found that many of those people didn't have a bullet.

Now, 344 cases have been confirmed in DRC with an additional 116 suspected cases. Still, WHO Director General Tedros Arnam Gabriacus is urging countries to stay on alert. "WHO's risk assessment remains unchanged, very high on the national level, high on the regional level, and low at the global level." Officials are still behind on responding to the outbreak, he said, but starting to catch

Attorney General at a White House event Wednesday night, the President said he intends to nominate Blanche on Thursday, before joining the Justice Department Blanche was Trump's personal attorney. News elevated to the acting role after the President fired Pam Bondi this spring.

Democrats have been critical of Blanche's performance as the nation's top law enforcement
