President Trump has named current housing official Bill Pulti to serve as the acting director
of national intelligence. Pulti has no experience in the intelligence field, and will continue to oversee the federal housing finance agency, as well as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Senator Mark Warner of Virginia is the leading Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He's troubled by the choice and says he's not alone.
Now you've got a guy who again loyal only to Trump, and he's going to have all 18 agencies to oversee.

gotten my Republicans concerned." Warner was interviewed on CNN's State of the Union, a drive by shooting in the West Bank today has left one Israeli man dead. Officials say five other Israelis were injured in the attack. Senator's Greg Myriy reports from Tel Aviv the gunman was also killed.
The deadly shooting took place at a gas station in Central Israel that's close to the boundary with the West Bank. Israeli police said the gunman fled in his car and continued shooting, wounding several more Israelis nearby. The suspect, a Palestinian citizen of Israel, was then shot dead.
Israeli's and Palestinians clash frequently in the West Bank, such attacks are much less common inside Israel. On Friday in the West Bank, Israeli troops fired into a car to checkpoint and killed a seven-month-old boy.

Both parents were injured. The military acknowledged the shooting, and said it was investigating. Greg Myriy, MPR News, Tel Aviv. A huge luxury development backed by President Trump's son and large Jared Kushner is facing growing resistance in Albania.
The NPR-Saram Schmitz reports Kushner is proposing to build the resort on top of an environmentally protected coastal area. Every night for the past week, thousands of Albanians have marched along the main thorough fare in the capital to Rana. Each time ending up in front of Prime Minister Eddie Rama's office to protest his government's
lack of transparency surrounding Kushner's project on a wildlife preserve. At a protest yesterday, at the proposed site of the resort in Svarenich, Al-Bibatozzi was among hundreds concerned about the project.

Federal agriculture officials and the livestock industry in South Texas are on high alert for additional cases of a parasite called the New World Screwworm.
NPR's Will Stone reports is the first detection in that state since the 1960s.
The New World Screwworm is a parasitic fly that lays its eggs in the wounds of livestock and other animals and feeds on their flesh. It was a devastating pest for the cattle industry in the 1900s before a massive eradication program largely vanquished the fly from the US. Jason Sawyer, chief science officer for East Foundation, a nonprofit and ranching operation,
says his industry has been preparing for this. The eradication strategy largely relies on releasing millions of sterile male flies that make with wild females, which causes the population to decline over time. Will Stone and PR News.
