President Trump has issued a full pardon for a former Republican congressman convicted
of insider trading."
“NPR's James Jones reports the decision follows appeals from leading Republicans who”
argue the conviction was unjust. "In 2022, the Securities and Exchange Commission accused Stephen Buer of using non-public information to buy shares of companies ahead of big announcements. He was convicted by a jury in 2023 and sentenced to 22 months in prison, and appeals court rejected Buer's claim that he was wrongfully convicted and the Supreme Court failed
to take up his case." Trump has pardoned 13 current or former members of Congress over his two terms, and he continues to claim that previous Democratic administrations used Department of Justice prosecutions to punish political enemies. The statement to the Associated Press, Buer says the pardon, quote, "corrects a politically
motivated prosecution." James Jones and PR News
“The Constitution gives a President broad power to grant partens for federal crimes, but”
they don't erase a person's criminal record. Police in Toledo are searching for suspects after at least 12 people were shot during a community street fair on Saturday. George Crawl is the City's Director of Public Safety. He's asking residents to review cell phone video and photos that could help investigators
identify those responsible. "I am imploring my fellow Toledoans to look through your cell phone video and reach out to TPD and help them catch the people who did this."
Two people remain in critical condition, investigators believe multiple shooters may have
exchange gunfire at the festival, no arrests have been announced. Authorities say they haven't decided whether the street fair will reopen for its second day.
“The Israeli military says it's carried out more than 150 strikes across southern Lebanon”
over the past two days, targeting what it describes as a Hezbollah infrastructure. The escalation comes as the UN peacekeeping mission condemns an earlier Israeli strike that hit a Lebanese Army vehicle killing three soldiers. The BBC's "We're a Davis" reports. "In the latest incident, the Lebanese health ministry said that two women were killed and
more than 20 people were injured, some of them seriously in estrikes in the southern town of Saxaxia near Siden, although Israel and Lebanon recently agreed to extend a fragile ceasefire. Israel has continued to attack positions belonging to Hezbollah, which has rejected proposals for a truce as long as thousands of Israeli troops remain inside Lebanon."

The 79th annual Tony Awards will be held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City tonight. While musical and play revivals have gotten the biggest buzz this season, Jeff London reports the price for best musical is the one that has the most impact on the box office. It will be an adaptation of the teenage vampire movie The Lost Boys, or the Titanic parody Titanic, or the two-person show two strangers carry a cake across New York, or the golden
age musical parody "Shmigadoon." All four will be performing on the Tony's broadcast, and all four could use the box office boost. All but two strangers have announced national tours.
