Iranian media reported that the message was from the army chief, Asa Minair, to the Iran

Stocks open higher this morning as oil prices stabilized, and B.R. Scott Horsley reports the Dow Jones industrial average jumped about 200 points in early trading. Oil prices jumped overnight, as Israel and Iran traded attacks, but crude oil prices stabilized after Iran said the skirmish was ending.

Retail gas-alene prices in the U.S. continued to fall.

The place is the average price of regular gas is about 416 a gallon. That's down about 16 cents from what we could go, but still more than $1 a gallon higher than this time last year. Gas-lean prices will likely play a significant role later this week when the Labor Department

reports on inflation for the month of May.

is spreading. There are 488 confirmed cases in DRC and nearly 90 confirmed deaths. Reporter Emmett Livingstone is in DRC's capital, Kinshasa. Itturi, a province in eastern Congo, about the size of West Virginia, is the epicenter of the outbreak with about 94% of recorded cases in Congo.

And according to Congolese health authorities, the virus has now spread to half of the provinces' health zones. It's hard to gauge the scale of this crisis, but there are clues that suggest it's much larger than the official figure suggests. Emmett Livingstone reporting, you're listening to NPR.

Broadway's highest honors, the Tony Awards were handed out last night at Radio City Music Hall in New York, the events host was the Popstar Pink. Jeff London reports the honors were spread widely among many events. If there was one clear winner of the night, it was the revival of Arthur Miller's death of a salesman.

The atmospheric production set in a garage picked up six Tony's including best revival of a play. Elsewhere the awards were more evenly spread. Ragtime picked up four awards including best musical revival while cats the Jellicle Ball picked up three.
