I mean, we should, this should have been done a long ago. One major issue is what will happen with Iran's nuclear materials, Tamar Keith and Pierre News. In Peru, the presidential runoff election is still too close to call, but exit polls

shown early lead for the conservative daughter of a 1990s right wing autocrat, Simeon Tagle reports from Lima. The country's two principal exit polls gave KKW, a 1.4% and 1% lead over her far left

opponent, Roberto Sanchez, when voting stations close today at 5 p.m. local time. Voting took

place without major problems after a polarizing race between two deeply unpopular candidates. Both of whom have been linked to corruption and accused of undermining democracy. KKK was promised to dynamise the economy by cutting red tape and tackle surge in crime by building more prisons and putting soldiers on the streets. But she will also face distrust from a large chunk of the electorate who fear she will repeat her father's authoritarian abuses.

each year. It's out today, and it shows improvements in child poverty, but as NPR's Jonah Janaki met the reports, there were setbacks in education. For nearly four decades, the NE Casey Foundation has tracked the overall well-being of children, based on 16 different measures across economics, health and family, community, and education. The latest report gives a snapshot of how kids fared in 2024, and unfortunately, three

of the four education measures got worse when compared to 2019. Math and reading proficiency, as well as preschool attendance, all showed declines.

The good news is that more high school students are graduating on time, 87 percent, that's

up one point from 2023, and two states made progress in education, Louisiana and Mississippi, while South Carolina stayed stable. Ladies, China's President Xi Jinping has arrived in Pyongyang for a rare visit to North Korea. He was given a red carpet welcome by Kim Jong-un and his wife, East Sulju, while North Korean soldiers stood at attention, and then a 21-gun salute was fired in Xi's honor.

At the main square in the capital, children carried colorful balloons as thousands of people gathered to welcome Xi. Many waiting flags from both countries. ahead of Xi's visit the first in seven years, he told North Korea's official newspaper no-dung-shinwan that China and DPR case down at new, historical starting point.
