Delaware Democratic Senator Chris Cune says it's possible Congress will vote to extend

the Pfizer measure. "We can, if someone other than Bill Pulti is acting DNI, or if someone else is confirmed as DNI, with the House out of session for a week, it won't happen soon. It won't have any significant impact on Pfizer operations in the next few weeks." He spoke to NPR's morning edition.

NJ transit is so worried about problems at New York's Penn Station that it's chartered two large boats, to ferry fans across the Hudson River after matches if necessary. The agency CEO Chris Colore says he told a top aide to start working on a backup plan during a recent string of infrastructure failures at Penn Station.

"Lamps, I think I should do it some like, I'm godly hour and said, yeah, we're going

to do a bigger boat." Colore says he will not hesitate to blame any rail problems on Amtrak, which owns Penn Station and the nearby tracks. Amtrak officials say they're prepared to deliver smooth and reliable service.

The first match in New Jersey is set for Saturday.

Joel Rose and PR News. This is NPR. A bridge connecting the U.S. and Canada won't open immediately. They're supposed to be a ribbon cutting today for the span that connects Detroit with Windsor Ontario.

President Trump wants to block the bridge opening unless his administration gets more trade concessions from Canada. The Trump administration says it is immediately suspending funding for homelessness programs in Los Angeles. The administration is citing financial mismanagement.

NPR is Jennifer Ludden reports. Federal officials say they will investigate the local agency that oversees the money. The move is the latest blow to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority or LASA, which is long coordinated services for both LA City and County. Last year, audits found it failed to properly track spending or the outcome of programs.

The county then said it will pull its local money out of the agency and the City of LA was considering the same. Now, the Federal Housing Agency HUD says it will investigate whether LASA broke any laws in its handling of federal contracts. In a statement, the local agency said it's already working to improve oversight.

LA Mayor Karen Bass noted that homelessness there has finally come down the past two years and said HUD's actions would jeopardize that progress. Jennifer Ludden and PR news. This is the anniversary of the Air India crash in the city of Ammonabad, India just after takeoff.
