In 2023, McConnell froze and appeared unable to speak for nearly 30 seconds during his weekly press conferences leader. He also suffered a series of falls, including one that resulted in a concussion and nearly six-week absence from the Senate.

Officials say the single-engine turbo-prot plane was operated by Skydive Kansas City. All 11 passengers were on their way up to Skydive. Since 1994, the Sam Wanamaker Award, named after the founder of Shakespeare's Globe, has been honoring those individuals who have best-advanced public understanding and enjoyment
of the plays of William Shakespeare. The judge's honoring Al Pacino for what they call his lifelong commitment to Shakespeare, including, they say, celebrated performances in the merchant of Venice, Julia Caesar, and Richard III among others. In a statement, the 86-year-old Pacino said he is deeply honored by the award, adding,
"Throughout My Life, the theater has given me a sense of purpose and belonging and Shakespeare
has always been a guiding force in that journey."

The Alabama Republican Party has rejected a challenge to U.S. Senator Tommy Tubberville that claimed Tubberville is not live long enough in the state of Alabama to run for governor in November. Tubberville's former primary opponent pointed to what he said was proof that Tubberville
actually lives at a 5.6 million dollar floor to Beach House, and therefore is not eligible to run. But the party's 21-member steering committee rejected the challenge saying, "Tax record show, Tubberville is a legal residence. Tubberville claims that his legal residence is actually a small home in Auburn, Alabama. He'll face former U.S. Senator Doug Jones in the November election.
