Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Winter Johnston.

The United States and Iran say the signing of a peace deal is imminent, but disagree

on when the agreement and the war will be signed. President Trump says the deal could come today, but as NPR's carry-con reports, Tehran doesn't appear to be on the same page. Trump posted that a deal to end fighting between the U.S. and Iran is "scheduled to get signed on Sunday."

Bernie added that the "strait of Hormuz" a key transport route for the world's oil

and gas supply will be "open to all." Pakistani officials who have been key mediators said a deal was expected within 24 hours and would be signed electronically, but on Saturday, spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry said a deal was coming, but "we will have to wait and see about the exact date," adding it will not be Sunday.

Either side has provided details of an agreement other than Iran would open the straight the U.S. would lift its blockade and the current ceasefire would be extended for 60 days. That case was around Trump concealing payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels. He also worked in the first Trump administration and in the White House Council's office under President George W. Bush. Trump's decision comes after pushback for his original pick for director of National Intelligence Bill Pulti, who had no intelligence experience.

D. P. Shiver on NPR News. This is NPR News in Washington. A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to restore signs and exhibits at national parks that were removed or revised over the last year. The judge ruled the interior department likely exceeded its authority by altering public

displays to align with or preferred political narrative that disputes stems from a 2025

executive order calling for the removal or revision of materials deemed critical of the

United States and its history. The ruling blocks for their changes and gives the government 21 days to restore altered or removed content. News took to the streets in New York City last night after the next defeat the San Antonio Spurs 94 to 90 in game five of the NBA Finals.
