Live from NPR news in Washington, I'm Dan Ronan.
President Trump says the U.S. and Iran have a deal.
“NPR's Franco or Donia's reports it could mark the end of a four-month-old war that”
has wreaked havoc on Middle East security and sent global energy prices surging. President Trump posted on social media that, quote, "The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Gradulations to all," he did not share many details, but said the agreement included Iran reopening the state of Hormuz, and the U.S. removing its own blockade of Iranian
ports. Trump added, quote, "Ships of the world start your engines, let the oil flow." The President has prematurely made announcements on peace deals before, and some international observers will likely be skeptical until they see greater details. The Pakistan's Prime Minister has been helping negotiate the deal, also posted that
an agreement has been reached on an immediate ceasefire, and the Iranians seem to be confirming this as well. Franco, or Donia's, NPR News.
“For the first time in American history, the South law of the White House Sunday was the”
site of a seven-bout UFC card as President Trump and others welcomed thousands of visitors to a temporary arena, erected for the event. The event was being held on the President's 80th birthday. Democrats have criticized the event saying it is an example that President Trump is out of touch with Americans when it comes to managing the economy.
The Carolina Hurricanes are the NHL Stanley Cup champions they defeated. The laws make his golden nights three to nothing in games six Sunday night to win the best of seven series four games to two. This is the second Stanley Cup championship for Carolina since the team relocated to Rally 30 years ago.
Senator Tommy Tubberville has overcome the latest challenge to run for Governor of Alabama from member station WBHM Richard Banks reports.
Tubberville has long faced criticism from Democrats and Republicans that his main home is a $5 million
beat house in the Florida Panhandle.
“Tubberville instead says he lives in a 1,500 square foot home in Auburn, Alabama, which”
record show has been owned by his wife and son since 2018 with Tubberville's name only appearing on the deed last year. Tubberville's primary opponent, Ken McFeeders, argued Tubberville hadn't lived in the state for seven years prior to the election, which the Alabama Constitution requires of candidates for Governor officials with the Alabama Republican Party said Sunday that Tubberville proved
his case and would remain the GOP nominee. For MPR News, I'm Richard Banks and Hoover, Alabama. It's NPR Steven Spielberg's sci-fi thriller Disclosure Day is beaming up a lot of cash this weekend and PR's Bob Mandela reports. possibility this weekend. What are you going to do? Full disclosure to the whole world, all what's displayed very open to the whole world
all at once and in three days racked up ticket sales of $93 million, about $44 million
of it in North America. That Spielberg's best start for a film that wasn't as equal, also performing well the low budget thriller obsession, which has now had four consecutive holdover weeks with higher ticket sales than its opening on HURDA for horror films. Obsession has taken in more than a quarter of a billion dollars worldwide about 300 times
what it costs to make, Bob Mandela and PR News. Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board in the FAA are expected at the scene of an airplane crash in Butler, Missouri, where 12 people died Sunday from a skydiving plane that crashed. Witnesses say the single engine turbo prop had just taken off and was trying to gain altitude,
but it was still low when the pilot attempted to turn and land on a nearby highway about 60 miles south of Kansas City. The midday crash the plane had conducted two short flights, 11 people who were on the plane were skydivers, the 12th victim was the pilot. It'll take at least a year for the NTSB to determine the cause of the crash, but the
agency is previously raised concerns about week oversight of the skydiving operations. This is NPR. Support? This is our glass. On this American life, when they mean like, it's a good mystery.
