Live from MPR News, I'm Giles Snyder, the terms of the ceasefire between the U.
are now public, MPR's Quill Lawrence reports on the agreement that starts a 60-day clock to reach a final deal on the future of Iran's nuclear program. It would reopen the state of her moves to oil tankers, an urgent economic and political priority as oil and other commodities have surged in price. Iran could begin to sell its own oil, and billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets
could be released if subsequent agreements like Iran ending its nuclear weapons program are followed. The official also said if Iran doesn't live up to its end, the U.S. could easily resume bombing. Israel is not a party to the agreement, but it could be a spoiler if Washington cannot
restrain the Israeli government from attacking Iran's proxy force in Lebanon. Quill Lawrence and PR News. And Washington DC, new Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Worsh met with reporters Wednesday afternoon after the central bank decided to hold interest rates steady, and PR's got whirsley with more on how the Fed sees the economy.
“I think it's just too early to know, a gas prices have come down from their recent peak,”
but Triple A says the average price of gas is still more than a buck a gallon higher than it was when the war started, and you know, even if tankers start moving freely through the straightaway moves, energy analysts say it could take months before the market stabilizes. So Fed policy makers are projecting slower growth and higher inflation than they were a few months ago, as well as higher interest rates, you know, that the rate forecast
are usually illustrated with little dots on a chart called the dot plot. But Worsh caused all of those forecasts should be taken with a big grain of salt. Stocks tumbled today, Wednesday after Fed policy makers signal they may have to raise interest rates by the end of this year. However, in Asia, stocks are rising with benchmarks in Japan and South Korea at record levels.
After the U.S. Sandy Ron signed their initial agreement to end the war. A conservative Oklahoma pastor has suspended his congressional campaign a day after advancing to a runoff at a crowded Republican primary. From Member Station, KOSU and appropriate ports on this comes after inappropriate texts with a former campaign staffer that came to life.
“Jackson Lawmeyer is a pastor at Sheridan Church in Tulsa who founded a group called Pasters”
for Trump.
He was widely seen as a favorite for Oklahoma's first congressional district following
a may endorsement from President Trump. However, earlier this week, following reports of suggestive texts, lawmeyer addressed the messages and a relationship that he says crossed boundaries with a former staffer. In a social media post, lawmeyer writes that he does not want to be a distraction to his family church and constituency.
The president switched his endorsement to Mark Tadford, who won the most votes in the Republican primary. He will now automatically move on to face Democratic candidate, former Tulsa school board member, John Krasant. For NPR News, I'm Anna Pope in Oklahoma City.
This is NPR. Tropical storm, Arthur, is weakening the National Hurricane Center in Miami, says Arthur has degenerated into a low pressure system along the upper Texas coast. For pastors, however, still warning that Arthur's remnants could bring dangerous flooding
to parts of the Gulf Coast, Arthur was the first named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane
season. A member of Canada's National Police Force has been charged with making online threats against President Trump. Dan Carp and Chuck reports the officer was part of the security operations at last year's G7 summit in Alberta.
The RCMP says 34-year-old Evans and Demar Lewis from Quebec had posted a video on his snap channel count, making threatening comments toward Trump. The alleged offense took place in June of last year, while Demar Lewis was "posted to oversee the security at the G7 summit," police did not reveal the nature of the alleged threat saying, "It's part of the ongoing investigation."
The force of special investigations unit is leading the probe, and Demar Lewis has been suspended from duties and sent home.
“A spokesperson says the investigation is delicate and complex, and that's why it took so long”
before Demar Lewis was charged. He is scheduled to appear in a Quebec court at the end of July. For MPR News, I'm Dan Carp and Chuck, in Toronto. Canada's seeking its first victory at the World Cup is set to play Qatar on Thursday after opening the men's tournament with a draw against Bosnia or Herzegovina.
Coach Jesse March says, "Canada captain, Alfonso Davies, will be available after missing the opener with a hamstring injury." Elsewhere, England star Harry Kane scored twice to equal the English record for World Cup goals in a victory over Croatia. This is MPR News.
