Graham had just returned to Washington after a fact-finding trip to Ukraine when paramedics were called to his capital hill home for a report of a person suffering a medical emergency. Trump this morning called into NPCs meet the press where he spoke about his one-time political rival who became one of his biggest political supporters.

"That he just landed from Ukraine as that's a long trip to that case he sounded a little tired but perfect but it's a little bit tired I had a right to be and he was a worker. Congress is back in session tomorrow and with the death of Lindsey Graham, its ranks

It makes it difficult to pass important legislation and PR's marvelous in reports.

The Republican majority in Congress was already slim and it just got slimmer. The sudden death of Senator Graham in the absence of Republican Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell makes Congress's job harder. McConnell has been hospitalized since mid-June and there's not been a lot of information about his condition.

Meanwhile, Congress has to pass the National Defense Authorization Act plus an emergency supplemental funding request from the Pentagon to help pay for the war in Iran. Both are big priorities on Capitol Hill. President Trump has been demanding that the Senate passed an elections bill, which among other things would curtail male invoiting.

But Republican leaders in Congress have told him they don't have the votes to pass it.

These back-and-forth strikes began after Iran fired warning shots at a tanker attempting to transit through the straight-of-armouths.

The U.S. retaliated striking multiple sites in Iran.

NPR's Kerry Con has the latest. Iran's Navy says it fired the warning shots at a container vessel after, quote, several ships attempted to travel along an unapproved route through the White of Waterway. Iran says it responded with fire toward Jordan and other Gulf states, the U.A. and

Qatari officials report intercepting incoming missile attacks. Kerry Con and PR news, Tel Aviv. And from Washington, this is NPR. Triple A says the price of gasoline is up as the war with Iran has resumed.

Unlettered regular increased more than seven cents this week to 387 a gallon.

Diesel is up 11 cents to 488. The increase in prices come even as demand for gasoline declined last week by more than 3% on a daily basis, as motorists appear to be driving less, following the fourth of July holiday. Hawaii has the most expensive fuel in the country, Indiana has the lowest.

The Italian is hoping for his fifth grand slam. German-born Alexander Serbev won his first grand slam in the French open last month. His Wimbledon semi-final win ended hometown hero Arthur Ferris Hopes of rising from Wildcar to Wimbledon Champion. Ferrev will likely be hoping momentum is on his side, but he's lost his last nine matches

against Sinner and has never faced him on grass where Sinner is considered the stronger

player. For NPR News, I'm Vicky Barker in London. Saturday, 21-year-old Lyndon Oscova won the Women's Singes title at Wimbledon. The four teams have been decided for the World Cup. France will play Spain Tuesday, Wednesday, England and Argentina face for the semi-finals.
