McConnell, says he's still recovering from a fall that forced a week's long hospitalization.

His NPR's Claudia Grisales tells us, "It's the first update from the Kentucky Republican

since he began facing persistent rumors about his well-being." McConnell shared a picture with his wife Elaine Chow by his side while holding today's issue of the Washington Post. McConnell said he was hospitalized for several weeks after falling from a post-pollio condition and sustaining minor injuries. Later, developed pneumonia. The 84-year-old said he was able to move from hospital care

to a rehabilitation center recently to continue to build his strength until his doctors release him to return to work in the Senate. McConnell said he hopes that the return comes as soon as possible. And in the meantime, he is keeping in close touch with his legislative team and colleagues. He is set to finish out the remainder of his last term in office, which ends in January.

Claudia, do you sell this? And beer news." Friends and colleagues of South Carolina, Senator Lindsey Graham, continue to speak out after the Republican lawmaker died late Saturday. In a post on social media, New Jersey, Democratic Senator Cory Booker said that despite

their political differences, Graham had a positive influence on his life.

"My prayers are with his family and all those who loved and cherished. I will miss. My perhaps most unexpected friend in the Senate." The medical examiner in Washington, D.C. said Graham died at home from a ruptured Aorta. Toronto police are still looking for suspects after a deadly shooting took place at a festival Saturday and Pierce, Shondalee Stuster, as more.

At least two people are dead and at least four others are injured after a shooting at a street festival in Toronto on Saturday night. Toronto police say gunfire was exchanged between two people at the salsa on St. Claire festival, an annual event celebrating Latin culture. Two firearms were recovered and investigators are working through at least three crime scenes.

Organizers of the festival said in a statement they are "shocked and deeply sad" in by the shooting. They also said the festival will not continue on Sunday. At least 13,000 people were attending the festival when the shooting occurred and no arrest had been made.

At least 33 shootings have occurred in the city this year according to Toronto police data.

Shondalee Stuster and PR news. Ukraine's Prime Minister stepped down this weekend. In a statement she said she was proud of had the honor of leading the government during one of the most difficult times in Ukraine's modern history. The announcement came as President Floodymer Zelensky announced changes to the government.

Zelensky has regularly reshuffled his government, it's an effort to bring new momentum to his administration. You're listening to NPR news. Officials still don't know what happened when a fire in a pub in Bangkok late Saturday night killed at least 27 people.

Michael Sullivan has a report from Thailand. Prime Minister Anatin Chavitakoun told reporters that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. But a musician at the site told local media that the lights briefly went out before there was a sudden explosion and then the blaze.

Video shared online by some of the first to arrive show huge flames billowing from the

front door of the pub in Bangkok's Chutuchek neighborhood as many patrons inside attempted to flee out the back. Local media says many of the deceased were found huddling in or near the bathrooms in the back. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in under an hour.

Dozens of the injured patrons were brought to nearby hospitals. For NPR news, I'm Michael Sullivan in Chiang Rai.
