"Live from NPR news in Washington, I'm Dan Runnan.

A week of heavy rains in storm-battered Texas has left two people dead, hundreds have

been rescued after flooding in the state's hill country.

More than two feet of rain has fallen in some parts of the state causing swollen rivers and creeks to overflow their banks. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said emergency workers have safely removed people from flood at homes and cars. He declared 28 counties in the state of disaster area. The declaration will fast track accessibility to get federal assistance.

He's also warning people to remain vigilant. Even if rain is not falling, because of the flow of water downstream, residents and leaders need to understand the rivers will still rise and still pose life threatening danger. Meanwhile, the lower Colorado River Authority Saturday said it plans to open two flood gates on the Mansfield, Dan, to lower water levels on Lake Travis.

It's the first time that's been done since 2019. China's government is denying President Trump's claims that it interfered in the U.S. elections in 2020. In a prime time, a dress Thursday night, Trump accused Beijing of compromising American voter data.

And comets in Blombe reports from China.

Beijing's Ministry of Foreign Affairs says China has "no interest in interfering in the

U.S. election and have never done so."

The statement comes after Trump accused Beijing of interfering in the 2020 U.S. elections. He says newly declassified documents or real-quote "shocking vulnerabilities" in the U.S. election system. Trump further says that Beijing illegally acquired some 220 million U.S. vote names and addresses. The previous U.S. intelligence assessment from 2021 found no evidence of foreign actors

altering voter registrations or casting ballots during the 2020 vote. Beijing's Foreign Ministry says Trump's claims have "no factual ground and are aimed at defaming China." For M.J. As Mollon Hyde from WAB reports the Atlanta-based beverage company says, "Project quality is not been compromised."

Fairlife is temporarily suspending U.S. milk production as it addresses a ransomware

event. The dairy company, which is owned by Coca-Cola, said this week it had detected that an unauthorized user had accessed its milk production-related systems. The company said it activated its incident response protocols and started investigating. Fairlife dairy is one of Coca-Cola's most popular brands.

In 2020, Coke fully acquired the milk brand for almost a billion dollars.

The company's dairy production in Canada was not impacted. Coca-Cola says it does not have any additional information and did not indicate when fairlife systems would be restored. For NPR News, I'm Marlin Hyde in Atlanta. And this is NPR.

What data was arrested following nationwide government protests in 2021, he was part of a group who composed an anti-government song that went on to win two Latin Grammys. It's over. We're no longer scared that the government's lies are over, they sang. What data completed his five-year sentence more than a week ago, it has continued to
