"Life from NPR News in Washington, I'm Windsor-Johnston.

The United States has launched another round of air strikes against Iran after an attack

in Jordan killed two American service members.

NPR's Emily Fang reports Iran's new Supreme Leader has issued a statement following the latest attacks. "We have Iran's elusive, new Supreme Leader, Mojjda Hamanai, issuing a statement. The younger Hamanai has not been seen since his father was killed in his U.S. and his rarely strikes.

So, you're about to hear a newscaster reading a loud statement today that's attributed to him." "Salaamu, dorudu, sepahas, barshomal, kebohemal, sayyabhina, zirotali hiihode, later in the statement Hamanai blames the restart of war on the U.S., and then in the statement also says that Iran "has unforgettable lessons in store for the U.S."

That's NPR's Emily Fang reporting.

Approduce supplier is recalling all of its iceberg lettuce from the U.S. market, including at some Walmart stores.

NPR's Christian Wright reports the Greens may be contaminated with cyclospora, a parasite

that can cause severe diarrhea." Taylor Farms is pulling its shredded iceberg lettuce source for Mexico from 27 states. The company said in a statement, "The lettuce quote has the potential to be contaminated with cyclospora, and that customers who bought it should throw it away immediately." Taylor Farms added on social media, "None of its salad kits are associated with the outbreak.

That's causing severe illness and diarrhea. More than 1,600 cases have been reported to the CDC." On Friday, the agency linked the intestinal illness to iceberg lettuce at Taco Bell locations in five states. Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Taylor Farms' recall suggests the possibly contaminated lettuce may have been more widely

distributed than first indicated.

France is blocking access to the popular prediction market-side polymarket, and P.R.'s Bobby

Allen reports authority say it violates the country's gambling rules and can be susceptible to market manipulation. France already restricted access to polymarket, but hundreds of thousands of people were still accessing it through a virtual private network, which can disguise someone's location. Now, Paris authorities ordered the country's internet service providers to block anyone

from going to the site, switch a limb, Belgium, Spain, and other European countries have also block polymarket. In the U.S. meanwhile, polymarket.com is also banned under a Biden era settlement, but the Trump administration has taken a hands-off approach to the billions of dollars of bets on the site for things like sports, elections, and war.

There is police-respect, one trader made money on a market on the city's highest temperature by manipulating an official weather-reeding device at the Charleston Gall Airport, Bobby Allen and P.R. News. This is N.P.R. News in Washington. Early voting is underway in Tennessee ahead of next month's primary elections, voters are

choosing candidates for governor and the U.S. House, many of them, and newly redrawn congressional districts. The Republican-led legislature approved the new map after President Trump pushed for redistricting and the Supreme Court weakened federal protections against racial discrimination in voting. Cynthia Abrams of Member Station WPLN and Nashville reports.

The redistricting effort has left Memphis and Nashville carved into three different districts. Some of which span the length of roughly half the state. The new boundaries means some candidates no longer live in the district they are running in. Other candidates entered the race merely three months ago.

Gary Stovall lives in Columbia, roughly an hour south of Nashville. Stovall wanted to vote for the mayor of Columbia, who was running for Congress. But under the new maps, Columbia residents can't vote for him. We were just kind of looking forward to one person. We know him very well, and we know what he's staying for.

But the other guys, we don't know much about him. Tennessee's primary will be held on August 6th for N.P.R. News. I'm Cynthia Abrams in Nashville. Fans of the television drama Outlander will soon have a chance to own a piece of the hit series. Costumes, props, and set pieces from the show are going up for auction in London after eight seasons.

The collection includes Claire's Red Ball gown and hundreds of other member of Illya. The items will go on display Monday ahead of a live auction on August 5th. The last time Antonio May's senior heard from his son, it was in a note, the 16-year-old left and the family's garage. He told me he was going to make me cry.

Antonio Junior left home to join a protest in Seattle. A week later, he was shot and killed there. I need some a ref me, just as for my son.
