The U.S. launched a new wave of strikes against Iran for an eighth-strait day targeting
“what it says were strategic drone and missile sites.”
The new attacks come after two U.S. service members were killed in Jordan on Friday from Iranian strikes, they're the first casualties since the U.S. and Iran signed a preliminary ceasefire in April, which both sides now say is void and PR's carry-con reports from Tel Aviv. U.S. Central Command says along with the military sites, it also struck forces with the Islamic
Revolutionary Guards Corps to quote swiftly punish Iran for the attacks in Jordan.
The brief statement by said Com did not provide more details. Early Sunday Kuwait's military said it was intercepting incoming missiles and drones from Iran, Bahrain II has reported an incoming fire from Iran. The step-up back and forth strikes show no sign of letting up, no public peace talks or negotiations are taking place.

during the last week of strikes. U.Cran says Russia launched one of its largest ballistic missile attacks of the war today targeting Keev, and PR's Joanna Kekis's reports, the assault followed U.Cranian
drone strikes on Russian tankers and power substations.
U.Cranian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia launched more than 40 missiles and 120 attack drones at Keev. U.Cranians were awoken by the sound of explosions and the booms of air defense trying to shoot down the drones and missiles. U.Cran has developed ways to shoot down most drones, but not missiles and the military intercepted
less than half of the missiles in this attack. Keev Mayor Vitalik Lichko said at least one person was killed and at least 15 injured. Moscow has stepped up attacks on U.Cranian cities as U.Cran continues a drone strike campaign

President Trump will travel to New Jersey today for the World Cup Championship game. NPR's Franco-Rodonia's reports are Argentina will go against Spain for the title. President Trump is expected to present the trophy to the winner of the match held in New Jersey. The reception he receives will be closely watched as the U.S. President was at the center of one of the tournament's biggest controversies.

Canadian wildfire smoke is pushing south across the Great Lakes and mid-west creating an unhealthy air in several states. Air quality alerts are in effect from Minneapolis to Cleveland. Forecasters say the smoke could linger into early this week. Additional smoke from wildfires is also affecting parts of the Pacific Northwest.
Thunderstorms are expected from the northern plains to the Mid-Atlantic today and tomorrow heavy rain is possible along parts of the eastern Gulf Coast, while dangerous heat is building from the northern plains into the lower Mississippi Valley. At the box office this weekend the Odyssey appears to be turning into a hit of epic proportions and P.R.'s Bob Mandelo reports.
Filmmaker Christopher Nolan has superfans and it was always expected that they would turn
out in force on opening weekend for his tale of Odysseus. Nolan could stand between me and home hero of the Trojan War. Nolan shot the Odyssey entirely with IMAX cameras, a Hollywood first, and many IMAX showings were sold out months ago, a few IMAX theaters added 2 AM shows this weekend and those quickly sold out too.
But the film is also playing well in conventional cinemas both in the US and overseas. The Odyssey is expected to take in more than a quarter of a billion dollars in its first three days worldwide that is roughly what the film which critics have compared to epics from Hollywood's Golden Age cost to make Bob Mandelo and PR news.
