Appropriations Committee, defending the administration's request for $87.6 billion in supplemental
funding. Much of that money, but not all, is for the war and Iran. It was the first time the Trump administration has faced public questions since the ceasefire collapsed. Senator Patty Murray, a Democrat from Washington State, called the cost of the war astronomical,
and demanded to know what has actually been achieved. We hear a different rationale for this war every few days. She said the request for funds should come through the annual appropriations process and not as an emergency, Hegg-Seth argued the request was "urgent" for the immediate needs of the Pentagon.

He says Oklahoma first responders are accustomed to operating in the heat, but paramedics are prepping for more temperature-related calls. The heat is undefeated against those who are prepared and don't take it seriously.

For most Palestinians, the ceasefire has not meant an end to the war. Israeli Earth strikes have returned to the intensity seen before the ceasefire, and the Israeli military says it now controls about 70% of Gaza. Before doing on Tuesday, an Israeli Earth strike targeted the al-Masri family's apartment building, killing all six members of the family.
The youngest child was only four years old. Israeli military told MPR to have targeted what had described as a Hamas operative, but did not identify the person or provide evidence. In another Israeli strike this week, five members of the Nazman family were killed. Gaza's health ministry says, "A 13-year-old boy was outside the home, and he was the only
