President Trump will travel to Dover Air Force Base today to attend the dignified transfer of U.S. service members killed by Iranian air strikes. U.S. Central Command says the human cost of the war is putting pressure on the White House. Justin Logan directs foreign policy studies at the Kato Institute and he told me that the challenge
of reduced munitions, for example, is kind of this abstract idea to most Americans, but what's not abstract at all is Americans coming back in confidence. The public doesn't like this conflict, but they're not that exercised about it as yet. He knows that the one way to get them exercised about it is to have large amounts of Americans coming home and flag-draped confidence.
And he said that more Americans who die, the more questions are going to be asked about what the aims of the war, in fact aren't. That's NPR's Franco Ordonis.
“Candidates endorsed by President Trump or celebrating victories in yesterday's Republican”
primaries in Arizona, Ben Giles with Member Station KJZ has more from Phoenix. Former NFL Playskaker J. Feeley won the Republican nomination in Congressional District 1, according to a race call by the Associated Press. The Trump and Dorsey will face either a meat-shaw or marlene galon woods in November. The Democratic primaries not been called, but Shaw had an early lead.
But either opponent will likely prove a challenge to Feeley in a North Phoenix suburb considered one of the most competitive races in the country, especially so given it's a race for an open seat. In southern Arizona's District 6, another toss-up race, incumbent Republican Juan's testimony will face Democrat and veteran Joanna Mendoza, both candidates ran unopposed

Wall Street futures are lower this morning following an update for stocks on Wall Street yesterday. This is NPR News from Washington. On a party line vote, the Senate Intelligence Committee has voted to advance J Clayton's nomination to serve as Director of National Intelligence.
The Trump administration made major cuts to a program designed to prevent the spread of HIV last year. NPR's Dury Buscarin reports on new data showing 77,000 fewer kids were served.
The State Department credits pup far with saving 26 million lives since it was established
under George W. Bush. One of the programs provides anti-retro viral medications to children born with HIV. But nearly released data showed that 10% fewer children were served by the program after aid cuts over the last fiscal year. In South Africa, the program served half the number of kids as the year before.
Researchers from the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health, which analyzed the data, found that the loss was substantially greater than what is normally seen from year to year as fewer babies are born with HIV. They also noted that the impact was felt disproportionately among children compared to adults. Dury Buscarin and Pernu's Washington.
Tropical storm bertha continues to move slowly westward in the Gulf of Mexico. Tropical storm warnings remain in effect from the Western Florida Panhandle across Coastal Alabama and Mississippi into Louisiana. The National Hurricane Center in Florida says bertha will likely weaken in the coming days that's after it brings strong winds and heavy rains to coastal communities along
