The court ruled that if Trump's order were to take effect for the midterm elections, he would so confusion and threaten to disenfranchise many eligible voters. Dean Democrats selected their new candidate for the U.S. Senate Saturday, less than three weeks after Graham Platner withdrew from the race because of sexual assault allegations, delegates selected Troy Jackson, and Piers Elena Moore offers this profile.
Well, he's no stranger to main politics, spending two decades in state government, and he's built a record advocating for a handful of issues that were really court of Platner's campaign, too, like passing Medicare for All and raising taxes on corporations on the ultra-wealthy. Plus, Jackson has a blue-collar background. He's a fifth-generation logger, and at a time when a lot of voters say they're struggling to keep up with
high costs and feel like leaders in DC aren't listening to them, voters see Jackson as a better advocate for a role in working class manners.

Iran-backed militants in Yemen has erupted yet again. Emily Fank has our reports. Saudi Arabia has been trading fire with Iran-backed Houthis and Yemen starting two weeks ago. This week, the Houthis announced a blockade of the Babel-Mendip straight, which Saudi Arabia is increasingly using to export its oil internationally, because another waterway, the straighter for Moos, is effectively cut off by Iran. All this will further
disrupt maritime traffic and global trade. The Houthis fired at two Saudi ships in the Red Sea this week, so Saudi Arabia then struck a port in Yemen and a Yemeni island on Friday, and in further retaliation, the Houthis say they've now aimed strikes at a city in Saudi Arabia this weekend.
