Three people were killed and four others injured early Sunday evening during a mass shooting
“in Seattle, Casey Martin from KU-O-W reports.”
The shooting happened close to the space needle at a large food festival with hundreds of people around, a two-year-old is among the injured. Jessica Allison was there with her young daughter and husband. It's like pop, pop, pop, pop. And I was like, that's fireworks, right?
That's someone being silly, and then we heard, and it was just a spray of bullets, and then we heard it again, and then you hear it very screaming, and we saw people running, and I just looked at him and I said, "Oh my God," and he grabbed our daughter and he was gone. Seattle's mayor said in a statement that at least one person has been taken into custody, and called the shooting an act of horrific violence.
For NPR News, I'm Casey Martin in Seattle. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is departing for the U.S. today, he'll meet with President Trump as uncertain to be over the future of the war with Iran mounts, and PR's Emily Fang reports.

Netanyahu is being accused by his critics and Israel of fracturing his relationship with the U.S., and failing to stop the U.S. from signing a nuclear energy agreement with rival Saudi Arabia last week. The U.S. has also been pushing Israel to withdraw from land inside Lebanon that Israel has occupied this year.
Trump has criticized Israel for continuing to strike in demolish homes inside Lebanon after a ceasefire. Plus, another ceasefire with Iran last month was not popular in Israel. A survey released this week by this really think tank finds Israelis consider a nuclear Iran plus conflict within Israeli society as the two biggest perceived threats to their

Even though Donald Trump is not on the ballot, his approval rating is under 40 percent
and that hurts Republicans, voters have soured on his agenda, they're unhappy with the economy, they're unhappy about the Iran war and tariffs. They blame both of those things for high prices. Democrats also have an advantage in voter enthusiasm and turnout. But Republican organizations, including the National Party, have big advantages in fundraising
and President Trump initiated an unprecedented wave of Jerry Mandarin last year, so several House seats swung to Republicans and there are fewer competitive House seats overall.
