Crimea was the first place Russia seized when it initially invaded Ukraine in 2014, but Ukraine
is now challenging Russia's hold on the black sea peninsula, with almost daily air strikes from afar. Many of Crimea's basic supplies are imported from Russia by ship. Ukraine is also attacking these Russian vessels, saying it is hit more than 200 in the past month.

Health officials say smoke from fires can be dangerous, especially for people with chronic health conditions, the elderly and young children. The Santa Fe opera cancels some performances because of the conditions.
