Luigi Mangioni has pleaded guilty in New York to federal stocking charges in connection
“with the December 2024 shooting death of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.”
Mangioni said he made a gun on a 3D printer traveled to New York and posed as an investor to get information about the health care event that Thompson was attending after the court hearing U.S. Attorney Jamie MacDonald who's office handled the prosecution spoke with reporters. "The defendant committed this murder in an attempt to drop public attention to his dislike of certain businesses, but we live in a civilized society governed by the rule of law.

Prosecutors planned to seek a life prison term at Mangioni's sentenced set for December the 18th, Mangioni also faces New York state murder charges. Violent crime is down 9.3 percent, the largest ever year over year decrease. That's according
to new crimes statistics released by the FBI, Trump highlighted the decline in a speech at a police academy in New York. "We ended the war on police and we declared a very strong war on crime." Murder is down 18.1 percent according to the data and the FBI said the murder rate is the lowest since 1956, but it's still double Canada's rate.

Time is running out to register to vote in some last statewide primary elections of the year and B.R. is Hansi Luwong reports on the upcoming deadlines if your eligible to vote in Tuesday's primary in Wyoming in person registration continues through primary day. Delaware and Massachusetts hold primaries in September, eligible voters who haven't registered yet in those states have until Saturday, August 22nd to sign up online or in person
or to get their male application postmarked. New Hampshire's primary is also coming up next month. Male and applications must be received by August 26th and in person registration will be available at the polls on New Hampshire's primary day September 8th. And if you're already registered, election officials recommend confirming your status and
contact information before the deadline by visiting your state's official election website. Officials can remove your name from voter rules, especially if you recently moved, change your name or haven't voted in a while. On Zilong and Fier News. Weather forecasters in Hawaii are keeping a very close watch on tropical storm lava, which
is expected to gain strength as it moves westerly and approaches the big island of Hawaii. The National Weather Service says it's possible the storm, when it approaches the island
Saturday, could be the first hurricane since modern records were kept beginning in 1949 to
hit the island. Forecasters say parts of the state could get between 8 to 12 inches of rain some areas to feet. At least 20 deaths have been reported after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake shook the coast of Indonesia at Damage Buildings in Home Saturday, it was followed by several aftershocks.
