on second quarter gross domestic product. Senator Darling Graham of South Carolina is celebrating
a win in the state's Republican Senate runoff. She defeated Congressman Ralph Norman, and will be the party's nominee in November. Louis Alfredo Garcia with South Carolina the public radio has more. Graham had the backing of President Trump and several established lawmakers throughout the state, but she was criticized for her lack of political experience. She says in an election night speech that the party now needs to focus on winning in November.

for an even bigger fight which lies ahead. Graham will face democratic nominee pediatrician Annie Andrews in the November General election. A head of the Republican primary Graham was appointed by the state's governor to serve the remaining months of her late brother's fourth term, Lindsey Graham died last month at the
age of 71. A teacher is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to decide whether Louisiana's law requiring schools to display the 10 Commandments is constitutional. Arbor U. Hoss with the Gulf state's newsroom has more. Chris Dear teaches history in New Orleans and is a former Louisiana teacher of the year.
“His lawyers argue the law violates the first amendments establishment clause because it requires”
public schools to post a specific version of the text in every classroom. In his petition, Dear says teaching in the same room would feel to him like proselytizing. He first sued the state over the law in 2024. A federal judge dismissed his initial lawsuit as premature because when he filed it, the law wasn't in effect, so posters hadn't been hung up yet. The same thing happened to a separate lawsuit by families. But now the 10 Commandments are
on display in many schools. Parents in Texas asked the Supreme Court to weigh in on its law earlier this month. Arkansas and Alabama also have similar laws. "From Pyrenees, I'm Aubrey U. Hoss in New Orleans." Authorities in Pakistan say at least 14 newborns have been killed in a fire at a government hospital in Islamabad. At least one child was rescued from the smoke and flames at the Pakistan Institute of Medical

People across the U.S. and around the world are remembering Dolly Parton, the country music icon died at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer. Reporter Katie Myers spoke to some of Parton's fans in her hometown of Severeville, Tennessee. As soon as he heard the news, Tom Aiken came to pay his respects at the Dolly Parton's statue in the town square. For Aiken, who is a Severeville resident,
her legacy is also about the way she always gave back to this rural community.
Coming down here and seeing everybody else and the sadness is not what you usually see here at The Dolly Parton's statue. Everybody's usually very excited. It's going to hit this town hard. Dolly funded a women's health swing of the hospital where Aiken's wife works. He says without it, women would have to drive 30 minutes for mammograms and reproductive care. After he lays a bouquet of roses down, Aiken watches as the community gathers here in the town square and the tears begin

Triple A says regular is averaging $4.10 a galon nationwide. That's a penny less than this time in July. Price is still more than 90 cents a galon higher than one year ago. Wall Street is coming off a positive day for stocks. The dowetted 160 points
