Mariana Bakiyao reports all across the city mourners have turned the usual tourist photoops into memorials for Dolly. Dolly Parton's face is all over Nashville. From license plates to the many colorful murals on alleyways, karaoke bars fielded song requests from Jolene to my Tennessee Mountain Home, and tribute to one of the most beloved
singers in America. Outside Parton's Nashville property, eight-year-old Iris Spragons left flowers by a poster of Dolly. "He's the mess." Iris grew up getting books from Dolly Parton's imagination library.
Her early literacy initiative has put 300 million free books into the hands of children.
Parton's family has asked that in lieu of flowers, mourners can make donations to her imagination library. For NPR News, I'm Mariana Bakiyao in Nashville.

The FDA today greenlit a first of its kind pill to treat metastatic pancreatic cancer
one of the most stubborn forms of the deadly disease, and Pierre's Yuki Naguchi reports. Nearly 70,000 patients get diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every year, and for a very long time, drug makers considered it intractable. The pancreas is a location deep in the abdomen makes cancers they're difficult to spot and easy to spread.
But revolution medicines, molecularly engineered a drug called Dirac's enrassive that could target the most common form of the cancer. It works by essentially turning off abnormal growth signals in a gene called K-Rass that dries most pancreatic cancers. Inclinical trials, the drug nearly doubled median survival to 13.2 months.
Based on promising results, the FDA earlier this year expanded access to the drug, prior to granting it full approval. You can a Gucci and Pierre News.
