President Trump Friday announced a deal with Venezuela that will give the U.S.
“majority control of more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves and that”
South American nation. U.S. officials say it will help to refill the U.S. strategic oil reserve, which has been depleted because of the war with Iran. But petroleum analyst Patrick Tahan says a number of problems remain. These proven oil reserves were calculated under Hugo Chavez decades ago, and the numbers
may not be consistent with reality. In addition, after that, U.S. oil companies, other global oil companies may get involved, but they still need to spend billions of dollars to get that oil to the surface, where it becomes more valuable." Venezuela's interim president says the deal will remain in force for 25 years.

Officials in the Bucha District near Kiev said Russian strikes there had damaged at least
50 apartment buildings and caused a large fire. In a social media post, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hinted that a warehouse that was hit in the village of Mela may have stored ammunition. He said that investigators are looking into charges of negligence. He said he could at ski, the new Prime Minister Zelensky appointed the summer, said those
responsible must be "severely punished." Russia's defense ministry said an statement that it had targeted a warehouse in Mela that had parts for long-range drones. Ukraine has used long-range drones this year to strike the Kremlin's war machine, Joanna Kakisas and PR news.
The explosions and fires also swept through a care facility for the elderly and disabled. Chicken Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Saiyev had tried to smooth tensions with some Jewish members of his caucus during a State Party Convention Saturday. Michigan Public Radio's Colin Jackson has more. El-Saiyev has long criticized Israel's military campaigns and these really lobbies political
spending. Some Jewish lawmakers have shared concerns his messaging could be stoking anti-Semitism. El-Saiyev apologized to the party's Jewish caucus for past comments. He told reporters he and Democrats can disagree on Israeli policy while also agreeing on defeating Republicans.

You're listening to NPR News. Canadians are continuing to express outrage over President Trump's efforts to change the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America on Saturday. Ontario premier Doug Ford unveiled a billboard near the town of Grimsby that says Lake Ontario now and always.
The billboard is near the U.S. border and sits along a major road, many Americans travel while visiting Canada. The world's top-curdier vascular health groups have agreed to issue new global guidance on heart attack symptoms. It's an attempt to end the misdiagnosis of women, Vicky Barker reports from London.
"Hard attacks in women are often this, because the symptoms, which can include nausea, dizziness, and breathlessness, and their causes can present differently than in-man." British cardiologist Nick Mills helped draft the new guidelines. He told the BBC, "We now recognize that all different acute causes of a heart attack are equally important, including those that occur more commonly in women, and not just those
that are caused by cholesterol and fatty and clots in the arteries." The new guidelines upgrade the three types of heart attacks that are up to 10 times more common
in women, ensuring women get fast tracked for crucial diagnostic tests and wear necessary
