U.S. Command says U.S. forces struck two Iranian rocket launchers in the straight-up or moves on Leric Island.

Navy Captain Tim Hawkins tells NPR, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces, "We're
seen preparing to launch rockets with sea mines into the straight." The guard says the U.S. attack will result in, quote, "punishment of the aggressor." Last week, Sandcomh says it completed clearing the mines from the straights international shipping routes. In a poll, search and rescue efforts continue after catastrophic flooding last week, left
around 800 people dead, thousands missing, including 85 Americans, and other Americans were rescued. State Department spokesman Tommy Pigut says the U.S. is sending help. "The poll government, we're coordinating with them on what they need. We have activated from the State Department $3.6 million in emergency humanitarian assistance.
It includes up to three months of emergency food for up to 10,000 flood-affected households. So we have immediately activated that.

disaster." Speaking there on NPR's weekend edition, he says parts of that money will go to rehabilitating roads. Ontario's premier unveiled a giant billboard near the U.S. border with the message "Lake Ontario."
Now, in always, after President Trump renamed it "Lake America," as a trade dispute
with Canada continues, NPR's Fatama Al-Kasab has more. Ontario premier dug forward unveiled the signs saying Canadians would never back down from a bully. In an interview with ABC News, Ford said a trade war with Canada would only cost Americans. "A tariff on on Canada is nothing more than a tax on American people."
Trade talks between the country's collapse last week, with Trump announcing 50% tariffs on a range of Canadian products and Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney, found to match U.S. tariff's dollar for dollar.

So, fearful last flooding in the Grand Canyon close the Colorado River and poor 60 people to evacuate? A significant flash flood event near Bright Angel Canyon has destroyed several structures
and damaged other infrastructure and utilities. At least 62 people have been evacuated to the South Rim by the Arizona Department of Public Safety and National Park Service, according to a release by NPS. More than 20 people are missing or unaccounted for. Nearly all foot bridges crossing Bright Angel Creek were destroyed by the flooding and most
trails are closed. NPS says additional thunderstorms and flooding are possible through Monday. There is no estimated time for reopening and additional closures may be necessary. Kind of green while reporting, you're listening to NPR news. Closing arguments are expected tomorrow in the trial of Duane Davis, accused of orchestrating
the shooting of rapper, Tupac Shakur, nearly 30 years ago. He's accused of getting the gun used to kill Shakur, but he's not accused of shooting the gun. In his 2019 memoir, he said he was in the car that held the gunmen that shot and killed the rapper in Las Vegas.
Davis has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon. Health officials in North Carolina say people may have been exposed to rabies through baby goats at a mobile petting zoo. For member station WUNC, Bradley George reports the infected animals traveled to 10 locations around the state.
The goats from farm adventures in Ierdel County were likely exposed to rabies by a skunk that got into their pen. The petting zoo held mobile events for children and the elderly around the state. It's not clear how many people may have been in contact with the animals, but organizers are trying to notify people who may have handled the baby goats.
Human rabies cases are rare. The state health department says none have been reported in North Carolina since 2011. For NPR News, I'm Bradley George in Chapel Hill. Hurricane Carina is churning in the Pacific, and it could become a major storm this week. The National Hurricane Center says the Category 1 storm is far out at sea, with maximum
