The death toll from last week's flash floods along the border between Nepal and Tibet
has now surpassed 1,000.
“Rescue workers are continuing their search for 1,000 still missing, including about 80 Americans”
as in Paras Michel-Caleman reports. 22 of the Missing Americans were a part of a trip organized by the Isha Foundation, which teaches yoga and meditation. They had just finished their trek into Tibet and were at the Chinese Immigration Center on the border with Nepal when the flood hit. The Isha Foundation's North America Community Liaison, Leslie Cresby, says the building
was demolished by a 150-foot wave and there have been no signs of survivors. At this point, it's a pretty, you know, painful reality because the information, unfortunately, that we've gotten in the last few days is not very encouraging.
She's visited some family members of the Missing Near Her Home in Tennessee, while other
families have gone to Kathmandu to search for their loved ones. Michel-Caleman and PR news, the State Department. The White House says Army Secretary Dan Driscoll has resigned after 18 months on the job.

Pete Hegsef, Driscoll and Iraq War veteran who attended Yale Law School with Vice President J.D. Vance worked to expand the Army's drone readiness and battlefield preparedness. And Pierre's Greg Myri reports this resignation is significant. Vance had pushed for Driscoll to get this position as Army Secretary and Driscoll became the youngest ever Army Secretary when he took the job last year at age 38.
So, well before Driscoll's resignation, there was a good deal of speculation. He would leave the position at some point to take a prominent role in a J.D. Vance presidential campaign, no one would be surprised if this is where Dan Driscoll turns up next. Russia was a surprising conclusion at this year's U.S. hosted G20 meeting of top global

It appears the White House told few if any of its allies that Russian finance minister on Tonsilewanov would be attending the G20 gathering in North Carolina. European officials refused to stand for the traditional group photo, a protest that resolved itself after Slewanov removed himself from the event. In a brief statement from Moscow, Russia's finance ministry says Slewanov is met with U.S.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to discuss opportunities for economic cooperation. Meanwhile, the Kremlin is busy showcasing partnerships elsewhere in Central Asia, President Vladimir Putin, just attended a regional economic and security conference for talks with the leaders of China and Iran. This is NPR from New York City. Jers in the Lindsey-Clancy murder trial told a judge they are deadlocked this morning, but the judge ordered them to keep trying. Amazon faces another federal lawsuit over the company's advertising prices.
It's the third suit brought by the Federal Trade Commission.
In Piazza-Lena Slew reports. The Federal Trade Commission in 22 states are suing Amazon they alleged that the company made tens of billions of dollars over seven years by misleading brands and sellers. The lawsuit argues Amazon quote "secretly and systemically overcharged advertisers," and note that Amazon is among and PR's financial supporters.
Specifically, the FTC focuses on the special options that Amazon uses to set advertising prices for what chopper sees as sponsored listings. The FTC alleges that Amazon manipulated the bidding to push up the prices. Amazon, in response, says the lawsuit fundamentally misrepresent how its advertising works and says its platform has, in fact, saved advertisers billions of dollars.
Alena Slew and Piazza-Lena Slew is Washington. The Metropolitan Museum of Arts says it will cancel an exhibition honoring controversial British fashion designer John Galliano, which was set to open at next year's Met Gala. Galliano who is 65 and helped to grow the luxury fashion brand Dior faced growing backlash from Met Patrons over a series of racist and anti-smetic comments, which led to a 2011 conviction in France.
Galliano said in a statement, "I remained fully accountable for the pain caused by my words in the past, particularly the hurt I caused to the Jewish and Asian communities. I'm Dior Alena Slew, and Piazza-Lena Slew."
