are still missing there. Authorities in Arizona say a second body has been found in the
Grand Canyon, following Saturday's flash flooding. They say one person is still missing, dozens of people were rescued or evacuated after heavy rains triggered the flooding. The White House is offering details on a Venezuelan company that will be working with the U.S. to develop that country's oil reserves. Here's NPR's Julius Simon." Alejandro Betinkort, who is faced multiple investigations in Spain, Switzerland, and the U.S. for money laundering. He has not been formally charged. While Betinkort's company has experience in some types of oil fields, oil experts tell NPR its unclear if it has the experience to develop the complicated geological formations under discussion in the Trump deal. That means the company may need more know-how and investment to develop the fields,
“but as some energy analysts tell NPR, many oil companies may not want to work with Betinkort's”

"There's a Democratic Senate primary in Massachusetts today, incumbent Senator Ed Markey is being challenged by Congressman Seth Molten. As Chris Burrell, with member station GBH reports, Molten is making Markey's age of 80, one of his campaign issues." Congressman Seth Molten, who is 47, says the longtime Senator is simply two-old and should pass the torch. At their most recent debate, Molten seized on Markey's uncertain
response to a question about whether he uses "generative AI." "If you don't even know what you're using on your phone, your iPad, like this is why we need a new generation of leaders to regulate these technologies to make sure that they are safe." But Senator Markey has rejected criticisms that he's lost a step. "Everyone watching this debate can see that I'm more energized than I've ever been before."

"Jury in Nevada has convicted a former gang member of murder for the 1996 slang of hip hop icon to Pockshire Corps. Dwayne Davis is facing a sentence of life and prison. jurors convicted Davis after three hours of deliberations yesterday." Shukor was killed and a drive-by-shooting near the Las Vegas strip after attending Mike Tyson's boxing match at the MGM Grand.
This is NPR News. Poles in New York City say officers shot and killed a woman in time square yesterday after she stabbed two people, one fatally, one of those stabbed a 32-year-old woman died of her injuries. A 68-year-old man was hospitalized, police say it appears to have been a random attack.
Later today, the state of Florida is scheduled to execute a 74-year-old death row in mate. Harold Jean Lucas was convicted of fatally shooting a 16-year-old girl and wounding two of her friends back in 1976. He's been on death row for nearly a half century.
This is the first of three inmates, the state is scheduled to put to death by lethal injection this month. The AI boom in San Francisco is leading to sharp hikes in the city's home prices.
NPR's Jennifer Ludden says they're up 25 percent from a year ago.
Two AI startups andthropic and open AI are preparing to go public and that's brought a flood of wealth already with more to come. Compass Brokeridge says more than 140 homes this year sold for at least a million over asking its chief economist Mike Simonson says that will have a ripple effect. "You can't buy in California, you gotta move to Texas and that drives home prices up in Texas."
Alex Brenner and his fiancee just endured a brutal apartment surge with rental bidding wars and long lines at Open Houses. "Best case scenario there's five people there, worst case scenario there's a line of 25." They found a place, but the price spikes give him pause about the high cost of staying in the city long term.
