Five people died today when a cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport.

Just before 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, an Amazon cargo plane crashed as it tried to land at the busy Florida airport. Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero Stutz says it overran the runway. It came to rest at a field adjacent to the airport. At this time, we can confirm that we have at least five to six individuals and we have multiple individuals that were transported
to local hospitals with unknown injuries. Video posted on social media shows the Boeing 767 with its tail over the airport's fence and thick black smoke rising from the aircraft. Local officials said there was a fuel leak they were working to mitigate. It's unclear so far what caused the crash, though the national transportation safety boards says they're sending a team to the site and launching
an investigation. The airport is open again, but passengers have been warned to expect long delays in cancellations, ping-wong and PR news.
White House envoy Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner are describing their first space to face
meeting with Ukraine's President Vladimir Zelensky as positive. Whitkoff says he's very encouraged by the direction of talks to end rushes four and a half year long war against Ukraine. The meeting followed an earlier session of the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kushner spoke with reporters. These are some of the hardest problems that's in the world. to these things, but we work very well together as partners, but we're not bringing our approaches. We're really representing President Trump and we're doing it the way that he wants to see these things done. For his part, President Zelensky insisted before the meeting that any peace agreement must include security guarantees for Ukraine and what he called a dignified postwar
peace. The Trump administration says hundreds of thousands of seniors have signed up for access to discounted obesity drugs through a Medicare program. NPR's Sydney Lupkin has the story. The Medicare Bridge program got its start with the Trump administration's drug pricing deals announced last fall. Nova Nordisk and Eli Lilly agreed to sell their obesity drugs to Medicare for $245 a month. Beginning July 1st, the Bridge program began offering
them for a $50 monthly copay to patients who qualify. Dr. Mehmet Ahs, who leads the centers for Medicare and Medicaid services, gave this update at a White House event.
“Now we have 600,000 seniors already, just in two months, have signed up to get these medications”
that we project will actually be able to save money. He says that's because patients will have fewer obesity-related health complications. But even with the price discounts from drug
makers, it's likely to direct cost to Medicare for the drugs will exceed a billion dollars.

Thousands of people gathered over Labor Day weekend at Huntington Place and Detroit, where speakers talked about overcoming challenges like anti-Muslim racism.
Pillow Airfond came to network with American Muslims involved in political social and educational life. He says young people are concerned about where they belong. There's a lot of feelings about kind of, are these safe spaces for us? Where do we cultivate those spaces? So it's not kind of offering that kind of space for a lot of these Muslims that want to feel community, want to feel someplace that we can organize together.
Saturday night, Michigan Democratic Senate nominee, up to all side, and Deerburn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, told the crowd, "American Muslims are a vital part of the country. With the National Football League season set to begin this week, Commissioner Roger Goodell's contract is being extended for four more years this until March of 2031.
Terms of the new contract have not been released, but Deer was paid $63 million annually
