ballistic missiles toward two US naval vessels. It was an aircraft carrier and a guided missile destroyer. Sancom says both ships were able to evade those attacks and in retaliation, the US struck three Iranian oil tankers destroying all of them. >> That's Empire's carry-con reporting from the Middle East.
The US says the Iranian tankers were part of that country's shadow fleet, which sells oil to help fund Tehran's revolutionary guard forces. In southern Lebanon, the Israeli military says it's taking control of a strategic ridge where it's been fighting the militant Lebanese group Hezbollah for two months. Hezbollah disputes that claim and PR's Janner RAF has more from Beirut's.

A US brokered plan for Hezbollah fighters and Israeli forces to withdraw and the Lebanese army to take over has stalled. Hezbollah says it won't withdraw from the strategic hill while Israel is in a position
to retain control of the area. A ceasefire is officially in effect, but Israeli air strikes Friday killed at least three people and wounded more than 20, according to Lebanon's health ministry. ads attacking AI data centers ahead of the midterms and PR's Maham Javadi reports. >> It's rare for political messaging to be aligned across parties, but when it comes to data
centers, campaigns for major races have collectively spent more than $45 million, airing ads
largely opposed to the AI facilities. Data from Ad Impact splits that nearly evenly, $22 million backing Republicans, $21 million for Democrats. Olivia Davis of the Democratic Governors Association says data centers are mentioned in political ads so often because of their connection with increases in cost of living.

A man was pulled out of a 744 hydropower tunnel while the woman was rescued from a house, at least 1,300 people were killed by the flood waters and officials say more than 5,000 other people are still missing. This is NPR News. A Greek Air Force jet crashed at an air show north of Athens, Saturday.
The planes two pilots were killed in the accident. The crash occurred during a low-level maneuver, officials say there were no injuries among those gathered to see the show, show organizers canceled the rest of the events. New treatments for lung cancer are starting to shift survival rates, NPR's Yuki Naguchi reports on one man living on the cutting edge of treatments.
Two years ago, Stanford Medical Professor Bryant-Lin was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. A disease spent his career fighting, as a patient, Lin has since benefited from a string of recently approved genetic therapies, new combination of drugs, and immune boosting medicines prolong his life.

precision therapeutics for lung cancer. My hope is, before not able to cure lung cancer, we can at least turn it into a chronic disease. While the survival rate for lung cancer overall has doubled in three decades, it's still
