Five people are dead in Miami after an Amazon Cargo 767 crashed while landing at Miami
“International Airport, running through an airport barrier and striking several vehicles on”
an access road then catching fire. The plane was arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Both the FAA and the NTSB are sending investigators. Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero Stutt spoke to reporters. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's office homicide bureau will be the lead agency in charge of the
death investigation portion alongside our local and federal partners as we all have different parts of our investigation to conclude. A ground stop of the airport was eventually lifted, flight delays are expected into Monday. President Trump's envoys have stepped up their efforts to end Russia's war against Ukraine, NPR's Joanna Cassissis reports from Kiev Ukraine.
Trump's sudden-law Jared Kushner and longtime friend Steve Whitkoff have visited Moscow several times, including on Saturday. They arrived in Kiev on Sunday on a train called the peace express, speaking to reporters outside the ornate presidential palace in Kiev. Kushner said Trump wants peace as soon as possible.
He responded to a reporter asking him if this could happen by winter.
“And I think if we can achieve that, it'd be an incredible thing.”
It doesn't mean that we will achieve it, but it's an effort that's very important to try. The Ukrainians, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, looked skeptical. Zelensky told reporters after the press conference that he expected the war to continue, and that he had discussed a winter aid package with the U.S. and Europe.

The price of a gallon of diesel hit another record today, the nationwide averages now 580-9 a gallon according to AAA. California has the most expensive diesel in the country at $7.81 a gallon, diesel was the main fuel in trucking and freight rail, you're listening to NPR news.

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is on its way to its plant orbital parking space. About a million miles from Earth, Joe Paka reports the mission managers have been turning on the telescope's instruments and so far everything looks great. The school bus sized observatory has a number of scientific goals. It's looking for a special kind of exploding star called a Type-1A Supernova that astronomers
used to study a mysterious force called dark energy. It will also search for planets around distant stars as well as galaxies far beyond the Milky Way.

Canada is set to launch $20 billion in counter tariffs against the United States on Tuesday after President Trump imposed tariffs against Canada last month.
