In Miami, air and road traffic on Labor Day Sunday was interrupted by an Amazon cargo plane
“crash that killed at least five people and left several more injured.”
Javan Antonio Hadar, his more from Miami. Prime Air Flight 7598 from San Juan, overshadowed runway at Miami International Airport and hit several vehicles on an access road near the airport. Miami data officials confirmed at least five dead and five more were injured. Fire Chief Ray Jadala said rescue vehicles were on site within 30 seconds of the incident.
The airplane did strike a couple of vehicles that required a couple of victims that were actually trapped in the vehicles. So a complex extrication with our technical rescue teams started to occur. The airport has reopened after a ground stop but operations will be affected at least till Monday. The FAA and NTSB are both conducting an investigation.
For NPR News, I'm Kavan Antonio Hadarri in Miami. In Germany, the far right alternative for Germany party, is one of the most votes in the closely watched regional election. Exit pulls currently show the party to have a lead of about 25 percentage points. But as Esme Nicholson reports, it's unclear whether the AFD has enough seats to govern.

Officials in Hawaii are urging residents there to prepare for heavy rains and flooding as Hurricane Lowell moves past the archipelago. A tropical storm warning is now in effect for Hawaii County and it goes down to Hawaii and Niihau. And because of that, we are expecting a tropical storm conditions on those islands.
So even though Lowell may not be a direct impact with the eye-moving of those islands, we do think that there will still be strong winds or could even be gusts close to Hurricane Forest, especially in some of the mountainous areas. Robby Berg is with the National Hurricanes Center. He says Lowell is a category three hurricane right now and it could bring as much as 14
inches of rain to some areas. Parts of the big island could receive as much as 10 inches. The rainfall could produce significant flash flooding and landslides right now Lowell is located south west of the islands. You're listening to NPR News.
Indonesia's a not-cracketow volcano erupted this weekend. Many flights at Jakarta's International Airport were cancelled because the Ashcloud was a threat to planes. Thousands of passengers were stranded because of the cancellations. No injuries have been reported, but the volcano is a destination for thrill-seekers who climb up the volcano.
